Flowers - gotta get it done!

Hello all,
I have been researching florists and I am getting really tired of it. I really want my flowers to be beautiful but I'm having a hard time figuring out what reasonable pricing is. It looks like Fiori Floral Design has some good pricing based on the email I received from them. Has anyone heard of them/used them?

I'm on a really tight budget so any reccomendations from budget brides would be most helpful. I have also contacted butterfly petals, flowers by jodi, Rita's, Ever After, and Zuzu's Petals.

Thank you!

I hear flowers by Jodi are great.... the only advice i would give you would be steer clear of Events by first rose! it took her over two weeks to respond to me emails/phone messages.

if i may ask what is your ideal budget for flowers that might help a little :)

Yea i am sure that flowers by jodi would be able to work with that budget and have you also thought about going through on of the local grocery stores for your bouquets and boutonniere's.  then just getting your centerpices and ceremony site flowers through the florist?

I went with Butterfly Petals and she is so great about staying in budget.  My budget was $2000 for flowers, and for that I was able to get my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids boquets, bouts for the groom, groomsmen and fathers (9 total) and corsages for 4 moms, pomanders for the aisle, flowers for the cocktail tables and bar, 15 centerpieces.  I picked some pricey flower (Calla Lillies, Cymbidium Orchids and Dahlias).  I could have easily cut the price in half if I had picked less expensive flowers.  So unless you need a huge amount of centerpieces or you want expensive flowers, I know she could do something really nice for $700.  Just make sure, regardless of who you go with, that you are very upfront with your budget and make sure they realize that your budget includes taxes, delivery charges, rentals of vases, etc.

Thank you! I have been emailing Amanda from Butterfly Petals back and forth today and I'm feeling like she's seeing "my vision." I'm actually doing the opposite with the grocery flowers. I'm getting the bouquets, bouts, corsages, etc. from a florist and doing the centerpieces with grocery store flowers. :)

Thank you Lyndsey! It is great to know you got so much from Amanda!

Yeah, it was actually quite the surprise that she was able to stay in my budget.  I went in with that budget and those specific flowers, and she was still able to make it work.  Other quotes I got were upwards of $7,000!!!  FOR FLOWERS!  Can you believe that?!

That is absurd! I know I can afford more than $700, but I found quotes in that neighborhood, so I'm going to try to stay there. I just looked at your pictures again to see the flowers and they are really pretty. I love the pomander your flower girl carried. That is exactly what I described to Amanda when we talked about what I want! :) I figure we can make it work since I'll be needing less flowers than you had. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I am also going with Butterfly Petals.  Amanda is great and she really knows how to work with a budget.  I know a few others have had a hard time with her because she had a difficult pregnancy and illness, but I honestly have really enjoyed working with her thus far.  I gave her a budget of $1100 which I totally made up off the top of my head.  Well, my first quote was almost $400 BELOW the budget.  She is amazing.  She didn't try to take advantage of the budget I gave her and make it as close to the budget as she could.  She just calculated the price based on what I ask for and didn't mark it up.  She is also throwing a few little things in for free, which is so nice of her.  I am SO excited for our flowers!  She is also SUPER creative :)

I've been emailing Butterfly Petals back and forth, too.  I also met with her once at her home office.  Nothing is signed, but I'm 99.9% sure I'll be using her for the wedding.  She's creative, forthright and I absolutely adore her succulent bouquets!

If you are still looking, I HIGHLY recommend Jan Dekker Designs. She is INCREDIBLE! It was the most fun I have had with the planning of the wedding so far. She helped me truly execute my vision and I know everything is going to be beautiful. Good luck!
