Veil Opinion

Hi ladies!

I'm having some veil issues.  When I tried on my dress, I fell in love with a fingertip length veil, with gorgeous lace trim. While at the bridal salon, I also tried on a cathedral length veil, with the same trim.  My mother and my FMIL *loved* it.  I was swept up in their happiness and purchased the cathedral length veil.  We are have a formal evening wedding, but not in a church (gorgeous park pavillion, lots of marble, etc).

Now, I am majorly regretting my purchase. I am hoping to consign it or sell it online.

The next question is, here's my dress.

What length veil should I choose?

Re: Veil Opinion

  • What are you regretting about it? Is it the length or the formality of the veil?

  • A little bit of both. I feel like it may be too formal.  Also, when I think about my "ideal" veil, I feel like it should be shorter.  It feels as though the cathedral length doesn't mesh well with the dress.  I may just be over-thinking all of this...

  • I'd talk to the store where you got it an see if you can exchange it for a shorter one then.

  • I am not sure about my veil either. I would see if you can exchange it too, go with what your heart is telling you. Good luck!

  • If you don't like it, I would try and exchange it.  If they won't, you could try valuveil.com to buy a second.  They are very inexpensive...I bought a chapel length veil for $20, including shipping.  I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for a veil, and I'm really pleased with the quality of the veil, especially for what I paid.

Just an option.  FWIW, I think your veil in the pic is beautiful, but it's your day :)

  • I think the veil you have on in the picture is gorgeous!  That being said, if you feel like a shorter one would match better with the formality of your wedding, get a shorter one.
