Wedding Woes

Re: WDWWT?

  • one of my friends just posted this on FB. this was my response on his wall:
i have to question why this woman was "vacationing" in a country without "adequate medical facilities" if her condition was a as bad as described. Where was the concern in taking someone with severe medical issues to a place where she could not receive treatment if an emergency occurred? There also is the question of letting someone in very poor health on a plane, where they would not have access to medical treatment should the need arise. They will not allow a 8mo pregnant woman to fly for the fear that she could go into labor during the flight - if someone is in kidney failure is it really smart to load them onto an 8+ hour flight?
  • I agree with Barbie and her black heart.   And it was Hungary.  I might be wrong, but Hungary is not a third would country, right?
  • So many questions... like, if you're able to hop airports for a few days, and at your vacation home for a few days, you couldn't drive to a hospital? Even if it was 24 hours away? I agree that the airlines should have been able to accomodate, but at the end of the day, if I were in poor health, I'd assure that I had access to medical treatment in case of... who-knows-what...
    Praying for a miracle!
  • im trending towards what barbie said. if she was already sickly, then i would really expect that she took a bunch of personal responsibility here.

but her husband is grieving, so if this is what he is doing, then so be it. he must be looking at her health with rose colored glasses and didn't see that she was not really in great shape on their way to their vacation.
  • Yeah, I'm with Barbie. This isn't really a fat thing. I don't like to even go to the movies when I don't feel especially well - and I'm talking having a cold, here, not having kidney issues that might kill me.

  • AND - it's not like she died in some foreign place.  This was their native country - where they still kept a vacation home.  I assume they still had friends and family there and the husband didn't go without any emotional support when she died.
  • That is crazy.  Hungary has hospitals.  And several other major cities are a train or car ride away even if air travel was difficult.  She had no business traveling in her condition.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.
