So we just got back from our mini-moon and I figured I would write some vendor reviews before I forgot.
An Eclectic Stem – I’ll start with the positives, she worked with my budget and was quite friendly. However, she is very difficult to get a hold of, never sent any kind of mock up or photos of what my flowers might look like, messed up the order, and seemed to have half-a**ed the flowers. My MOH, who has worked for a florist for a few years, noticed some basic errors in the flowers.
Just Cakes – I can’t say enough about how awesome our cake turned out. Not only was it beautiful (and affordable) but it was also the best cake I, or any of the many guests, had ever had. The chocolate fudge cake with peanut butter filling was life changing and the raspberry with lemon filling was amazing as well. If you are getting married in Blue Springs you should definitely give them a call.
Adams Pointe Golf Course – Everything was wonderful, food was great, and the place looked beautiful. It was so nice to not have to worry about anything on my wedding day and they made sure that happened.
DJ- We did an “ipod reception,” but, rather than an ipod we used itunes on my laptop and made a playlist of songs we liked and that people could dance to. I would suggest this to anyone who is relatively low key and likes to be in control. Also, we borrowed a sound system from my dad (who owns radio stations), which is also a must. I can’t imagine just using computer speakers.
Photographer – For this we had a friend of mine from college who is trying to break into wedding photography and he did a great job. I would recommend this if you are trusting and have crazy talented friends like I do.
