Reviews on The Berkeley Church/Field House

Has anyone been to or had a wedding at The Berkeley?  We're considering having our wedding there because it's such a fantastic space but I've been reading mixed reviews on the venue, the food and the service there.  Let me know.

    I have been to an alumni formal there and it was excellent.  There are definitely some brides on here who are planning weddings there as well who will be happy to help!

    i had 2 close friends get married at the berkeley last summer. both weddings were beautiful. they allow you to bring your own alcohol which saved them a lot of money. both couples said when they had their tasting they weren't impressed with the food but i found the food at both weddings were great. one of them had their wedding in the main church and the other at the field house. i definitely like the main church venue better. it had more atmosphere and felt more special. the field house has the outdoor aspect but didn't find it was better.

    though the big issue both couples had was with the coordinator there. both of them are very laid back couples and they found the coordinator very frustrating to work with. mainly they would email her and ask a question and she would take weeks to respond. and when she did respond she often wasn't answering their question. it's unfortunate they had that experience which definitely added stress to their planning but in the end both couples were happy with the wedding.

    nope they just worked with the person at the berkeley directly.

    I've put on a few events at the Berkley Church as well as attended functions there. It's an awesome venue.

    The only thing to be aware of is that you need to get your own liquor license, this means you are liable if anyone gets into an accident when they leave and you need to purchase all of your own liquor and deliver it to the venue!
