where does Father stand during walk down the aisle?? & other stuff...

I have read different things. Most say your Father (or whoever escorts you) should stand to the right of you. But others have said he should stand to your left so he doesn't have to walk around your train after you are "handed" to your groom, & also since he will be sitting on the left (Bride's side) that is best. Is there really a right or wrong way?? I'd also like to add that our 10yr old is also escorting me down the aisle so I was thinking it would make more sense for my Dad to be on my left & my son on my right. That way he could just go sit with my FMIL after he helps "give me away." ...Which then leads me to wonder if I should have our daughter (FG) & 3 yr old son sit with my parents (away from big bro) or with FIs parents? I am thinking I want them to all sit together... All the little things to think of!! Thoughts??

  • I have heard that in a Jewish ceremony, the FOB stands to the left of the bride.  Don't know if that's accurate but that's what I've heard.  Any wedding I've been to or been a part of, the FOB stands to the right of the bride.  Not sure it really matters though.

If you're having someone on both sides of you I really don't think it matters one way or the other.

Also, just saw your wedding date: Congrats on being 100 days out!

Not sure about that, but I do know traditionally jewish ceremonies both parents walk you down and in catholic it is just your dad. I'm not doing a religious ceremony but wan to have both my mom and dad walk me down.
