FI and I originally weren't planning on hiring a videographer, but because we know the day is going to go by in a rush we thought about just asking a family member to record parts of the wedding. However, the more we think about it, the more we realize that what a family member or friend would record on a crappy camera may not provide the results we're hoping for (shaking images, poor sound quality, etc).
Is it at all possible to find a videographer under $1,000 who would record the bride and groom getting ready, the ceremony, and at least part of the reception? We don't want anything amazing with tons of bells and whistles... we're just looking for a decent recording of our wedding that will give us the chance to see things we may have missed in the rush of the day and to have the important parts of our wedding recorded.
Any specific recommendations?
Also, what's the difference between the edited and unedited footage that videographers offer in terms of what you actually see on the video? Does unedited footage still look decent for the most part?
