A few questions for you

Ok so I have a few questions for you ladies.....
1. Any hidden fees for vendors that we should look out for or ask about. I really have no clue about any of this stuff.
2. Questions that you forgot to ask your vendors or wish you would have asked about
3. I started a new job about 6 months ago and I have gained some extra lbs, and I refuse to try on any dresses until I shed osme lbs. What did you do to lose a few lbs if you needed?
Looking forward to reading your responses!

Re: A few questions for you

  • There are so many things to ask wedding vendors and when it comes time to ask....sometimes you mind can go *blank*! lol

Here are some questions to ask your vendors....

    Catering companies
    - Is there a corkage fee? This is sometimes told to clients and other times....not.
    - Do they offer meals for your photographers/videographers/dj at a lower price? Some of your vendors will request something to eat while working at your wedding.
    - Will they charge you an additional fee for tastings?
    - If you decide to book a different vendor for your cake will there be a cake cutting fee?
    - What do their overtime charges include?
    - Is there a minimum number of plates which must be ordered?
    - Are bar fees based on consumption or the number of bottles opened? You should also ask if you can provide your own alcohol.

    For all other vendors....
    - Ask if there will be any travel fees associated to traveling to your wedding.
    - Ask if you need to provide them with a meal. Personally, I would do it anyways because you don't want a vendor to go hungry or much less faint. Sometimes, their contract will state this.
    - For vendors who need to deliver items for your wedding....ask them for the price of this service. Usually, it's not included with your final cost for the item.

Not sure when your wedding is but I wouldn't wait too long to go dress shopping. A dress can take a good while before it gets back to the shop where you purchase it from. I purchased mine last year in November and it arrived in May. If you are trying to loose weight then I would highly recommend the Paleo diet. It does wonders and it's basically just healthy eating...no carbs, sweet, grains or dairy. Lower down your salt intake (you can take a baby asprin once a day to relieve bloatness) and drink lots of water.
  • I would agree with the above post - make sure your vendors eat, and be absolutely sure to inquire about travel fees. Nearly everyone is charging them now, and sometimes when they don't, they actually take the travel time out of your service package (for example, if you have a 5 hour photography package, they use one of those hour for their travel!)

For the weight loss, heres a great tip - choose one or two things that you eat regularly that you know are high in calories and ban them, at least until the wedding day. For me, I stopped eating ANY red meat and soda. You'd be surprised how much just one or two food items will increase your daily cals!
  • This sounds silly but I didn't even think about the vendors eating. It's not set in stone yet but our wedding date is possiblyy 2/15/14.
  • For diet: DON'T count calories, you'll end up lacking proper nutrition. Cut out bread, pasta, and dairy cheese, milk, butter. Eat protein and carb for breakfast, protein carb and vegetable for lunch, have snack foods but not nuts because they aren't actually that nutritious and are high in sodium. Eat protein and vegetable for dinner. Lots of water and green tea. For exercise two days of cardio for 30 minutes a day and three days of strength training for atleast an hour. Make sure to take a multi vitamin, vitamin c and biotin to help out along with natural probiotics to aid in digestion. If you want anymore tips PM me.

<div>Make sure you feed them. Especially those who will be with you most of the day. My photographer and videoographer for example were with me for about eleven hours from start to finish. We made sure they ate dinner, but still - thats a LONG time to go with just one meal towards the end of the night. </div><div>
</div><div>Most of my vendors had it as a condition of their contract as well. Be sure to do right by them!</div>
