Hey Erin
I noticed on Pinterest that you also had liked the babies breathe for south ferry church! I think that is what we wanted to do also.

Who are you using for a florist?

Hey I2012 i Do - i have a bunch of quotes for baby's breath center pieces and the best prices I got for mine was with Florals by Alisa! (next most affordable was Whole Foods)
  • Oh thanks!

  • Great minds must think alike ladies, we are booked with Florals by Alisa!

I had read great things about Whole Foods but when I called I was told they could not commit to prices until closer to the event due to variations in the market?  That made me a little nervous.

Ali and Lisa from Florals by Alisa have been fantastic so far.  We had the chance to meet with them during our whirlwind tour of everything back in October and they were lovely.  They had my Pinterest board all printed out and in our folder already and she had taken the time to really familiarize herself with what we were thinking and had already earmarked previous work from their portfolio that matched.

Some brides have mentioned that the only downside with them is that if you want mock-ups you have to pay as they work out of their homes and do not keep a full floral stock as a floral shop would.  However, I think you win on the other end because they order more than enough flowers when prepping for weddings (so they have extra) and then I always notice that their centerpieces and bouquets are pretty lush/full because they probably put in all the extra flowers. I also noticed that the price quoted versus reference photos sent for size was cheaper/bigger versus more expensive/smaller from other florists (i.e. my centerpieces are roughly $40 a piece and the centerpiece in the reference picture FBA sent was about 3x the size I had been envisioning because another florist quoted me $55 each and the centerpiece was signiicantly smaller). For me, as we were travelling, I did not want to waste the flowers having them make a mock-up and I trust that their vision of our vision will be beautiful.  But we're also looking for pretty simple (almost all hydrangea and rose) so if you wanted something more complex/specific I would probably pay for the mock-up.

The flowers are one of the things I am most excited about but that I was least excited to pay so much for, haha.  I am so happy we found Florals by Alisa as I truly believe they are doing this mainly for the creative outlet and to make just enough; not to make a huge profit like many of the bigger florists.

Hope that helps ladies...can't wait to be done trading stories on here and post pictures instead!!! : )

  • Hey ladies - I too am thinking of looking at Florals by Alisa as well as Whole Foods - but I am hoping to keep my budget under $2000 - is this crazy??  I have my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids, and about 10 table centerpieces to think of.  Can someone tell me if I am in the the price ball park for flowers and/or pm me your budget??

  • eharitos - your budget seems reasonable.  It all depends on the flowers you pick and if you want high centerpieces the price increases as well.

<div>Our quote is running about $1500 and we have six bridesmaids, 16 centerpieces, and boots for the guys, plus my boquet and two ceremony centerpieces.  But, again, as mentioned this depends on what you're looking for.  If you want something higher end like orhcids or lillies you will pay more.  We are sticking with hydrangeas, roses, and just baby's breath for our ceremony centerpieces.  </div><div>
</div><div>I do know that during my initial convos with Florals by Alisa they were super helpful in respecting our budget guidelines (I asked to come down from the initial centerpiece quote and they emailed back asap with the adjustments) and I was blown away by the reference pics they sent in terms of the pricing.  </div><div>
    </div><div>Hope that helps!  : )</div>

  • @eharitas I think thats a reasonable budget.
We have told florist we wanted to stay around $2500 (my mom said this, I had originally told people 1500).

I want some pretty large scale "high" centerpieces that even from florals by alisa were going to run me a pretty penny. Read: Curly willow with voitives and hydrangeas hanging.
But they balanced out my quote by offering smaller centerpieces, and candles on the tables of the ones that did not have the large centerpieces.

    Here were my quotes:
    Florals by alisa around $1600
    Flowerthyme around $2000
    and Golden Gate around $2200.

of course, the things differed from Each florist. Some people were doing more with the statement pieces, some included rentals, some didn't.

Overall I have a wedding party of 4 men, 5 women, 12 centerpieces and my mother also wanted a small bouquet to hold so that was pricer than just a pin on flower.
