Beach Ceremony

I'm having a beach ceremony so I wanted to go barefoot. The reception is more formal so I will be wearing heals.  My question is do I get my dress hemmed for going barefoot or with the heals??

    I would say get it hemmed for your heels.  I think it would look worse for your dress to be too short with the heels than too long without shoes.  Plus you'll spend more time in it at the reception than at the ceremony.  You should get platform flip flops though that are the same height as your high heels shoes with your dress to solve the problem completely!  You'll still have the beachy feel without the hemming issue.

    What Id recomend is maybe (depending on your dress) using a more poofy crinoline with the dress for the ceremony & less poofy or none for the reception. That will get you the few inch difference.
