I need suggestions to pull off a surprise!!

I need your help ladies and I don’t know who else to ask since it has to be a surprise from everyone (including my FH!!!)

My son (who will be 8 this spring) and I have decided to do a special dance together at the reception. We decided last night that instead of having our guests sit through another slow song, that we would surprise everyone with a fun silly choreographed dance to surprise everyone and get the party started in a fun way. It’ll also be special to have a secret between the two of us and spend the year practicing it.

I need help to choose a song!! My son suggested Baby Got Back. I don’t think that’s very appropriate for mother and son. I was thinking Thriller, but it’s more of a Halloween song. I was thinking Time Warp from Rocky Horror?

Anybody have suggestions? T.I.A.!!

    I love "Sway" by Michael Buble. Not sure if he can learn how to do something similar to a salsa song. It's in "The Wedding Date" too.  

    I also love "Baby Got Back",but it's not really appropriate.


    I like the idea of "Grease Lightening".

    Any of the Gloria Estefan songs, "Let it Loose", "Rythm is going to get you", etc.


    It's a great idea. I'm planning on having my bridesmaids dance with me to Shania Twain's "Man, I feel like a woman", or "Dancing Queen" by Abba. Only because they are my best friends and we love to have fun.

    Sorry, when I hear the Time Warp, I flash to my midnight showings of RH where everyone is in aisles doing hip thrusts against one another... Fun song, but yeah... 

    I do think that this is a super awesome idea! I can't think of any specific suggestions, but definitely something fun! The mention of Abba is awesome (and brings back great Mamma Mia memories).

    If you do a google search for dance music you can get a lot of great songs, and mixes!

    J-Lo's let's get loud is a great upbeat song.

    If you go to You Tube and look up the "Evolution of Dance" or "Suprise Wedding Dance"  I think you will get some fun ideas that you guys can do together.  I really think a mixed song would be a lot of fun and would keep your guests interested as well as let you do a lot of different dancing.  Good Luck and Have Fun!
