I just got back from meeting with my trainer to go over measurements since I've completed my first month of training with him. I had expressed my concerns that I hadn't lost as much weight as I had wanted/hoped and he reassured me with the following:
Body Fat % Feb 8: 35% Today: 31%
Weight Feb 8: 198 Today: 194
I also lost 7 inches overall with 2 inches off my hips and 1 inch off my waist!!!!!
My trainer then proceeded to explain to me that in a month I gained close to 5 pounds of muscle, which he has never seen happen before. He told me this translated into losing 9lbs of fat. He also assessed my conditioning, which he now said is top notch! He then said, "that's why your weight is where it is... you've put on more muscle than I had anticipated. So we need to dial back the heavy strength training sessions and increase the higher intensity cardio work since you've got all the muscle we need you to have to burn off the remaining fat."
He said he is going to work on putting together some cardio/circuit sessions for me where I can do high intensity interval training and also prescribed some spin sessions so it looks like I'll need to find some classes at my gym. I'm curious.... what do you gals do for high intensity cardio sessions? When I think cardio... I tend to think of 40 minutes on a treadmill or eliptical at a speed of like 5 or 6.0. I know that isn't the most ideal.
I'm so eager to get a jump on this and I now have measurements again in two weeks. He wants to see what I am able to shed off. This totally made my day.

Hope you're all having a great Wednesday!
