Night Time Photo Ideas

Hello all! We are getting married in November, after the sunsets. I am trying to find a photographer and the one I am looking at seems to be trying to sway us from night time photos! Does anyone have any ideas as to where we could get some good night time shots (indoors or outside?)

She mentioned the "first-glance" concept to me, but I have been looking forward to walking down that aisle to my FH my whole life and can't shake it!

We are getting married in Wexford and only have an hour for pictures. HELP PLEASE!

  • As far as where to take pictures, I'm nit really sure what's out that way. But she's probably trying to sway you because night time photography is hard and can be really really hard. Having a cloudy night is a heck of a lot different that a cloudy day.

I agree with panther. Night time photos are extremely difficult for even teh best photographers, and simply won't come out as nice as photos taken with natural light. You'll have to decide what's more important - that first look going down the aisle or having pretty photos. If it's walking down the aisle, I'd figure out some indoor locations for your photography.

As an example, here are nighttime photos by my photographer, who is one of the best in the area: http://randivossphotography.com/2011/12/katherine-and-mikes-wedding-at-holy-cross-greek-orthodox-church/
If you look through those pictures compared to her usual bridal pictures in daylight, maybe you will get a feel for the difference. HTH
  • M, I was thinking of the exact same shoot when I replied earlier :)
