I was hoping to have a birdcage veil and I noticed you stated in your BIO you DIY' it but when I clicked on the link at the bottom it said "not found"Frown

I was wondering if you could tell it me if it was hard to make it? Did you make the flower as well? I so want a birdcage veil but they are so dang expensive and well DIY it seems smart!

TIA!

hey! ok, so i don't know what's going on with that link. i found the one that works!

i actually bought my russian netting from a fellow knottie, but it's pretty inexpensive. it's like $10 including shipping on this site.

there's enough fabric to make an extra veil for practice in about 1 yard, but make sure you get the 18''. i'm really crafty so i found it super easy and fast, but if you're not good with crafting you might find it hard. i also made the hair flowers. you can buy silk peonies or magnolias at michael's. i took them completely apart and put them back together the way i wanted. i used a hot glue gun and clear thread to attach everything. as for the beading, i looked around the bead aisle at michael's and found jewelry pieces and sewed/glued them to the middle of the flower.

i probably spent like $15-20 on all of the supplies and have 2 birdcages (one is too small!) and 3 hair flowers. you can totally do it that inexpensively! especially if you stalk michael's and buy everything when it's on sale or use the coupons that they send via email. i hope that helps!

WOW! Thank you for sharing! I'll have to attempt it @ least once! I am NOT a crafty person Embarassed but all I can do is try and if I fail I'll move on... but $15-$20 not bad at all!!! I'm so in love with knottie bostontola birdcage veil

but I cant manage to spend so much $!  It's so beautiful I'm sure if I talk to FI he would say "yes" but I feel like I should shop and try other options Laughing

Thanks again for all the info!

BTW- can't wait to see how everything turns our for your wedding...with all the details in your BIO...it will be to die for!
