Which Workout DVD's to Use...need advice!

I am getting married in Feb. I have several options for workout DVD's. I'm looking to tone up more than to lose weight, but a few lbs lost wouldn't be bad ;-) Here are the contenders: Supreme 90 (same thing as P90X but shorter workouts), Insanity, and Jillian's 30 Day Shred/Ripped in 30 combo. I have also seen lots of buzz on the Bridalicious DVD's that are relatively new, which I'm willing to buy if people have had good results.

Anyone have greater success with one or the other of these workouts? Any experience with which one might be easier to stick with? I've done workouts from all but the Bridalicious one, I just haven't been totally committed to one. Any advice is appreciated! :-)

  • I'm using the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred since I'm a beginner, but I do have the Ripped in 30 and it kicked my @$$.  I have heard great things about the Insanity workout.

I have been doing Jillian Michaels DVDs for a few years now.  I really like the "No More Trouble Zones", "6 week Six Pack" and "Ripped in 30."  They are tough but a combination of the DVDs and cardio (treadmill or exercise bike) and you will see results.  I've lost about 10 pounds in the last year.

</div><div>I don't have the No More Trouble Zones.  I honestly picked up like all of her DVDs LOL.  I figured I'd do them in stages, like when I'm done with one move on to the next.

  • I've done Ripped in 30 and gotten good results. Week 3 is where it all happens!

I did the first month of Insanity as well, and it was awesome! I got a bad flu and fell off the wagon, and it's not something that you can pick up where you left off. I'm thinking I might do it again in the coming months.

I'm also using Jackie Warner's dvd. It's got a 40 minute total body circuit, and 15 minute upper body, lower body and abs aorkouts as well. They hurt!

  • Here is my review of the Bridalicious Bootcamp DVDs:  http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_getting-shape_my-bridalicious-bootcamp-review

Otherwise, what's your fitness level?  Because insanity..  is insane.

    cdelei,

I am currently doing insanity and it is crazy but it's a great workout you don't need any weights or equipment it is all your body and let me tell you, you will be dripping sweat from this!!! I am a beachbody coach, beachbody is the company that produces, p90x, insanity etc.... and my goal is to help people get fit and healthy by motivating them and holding them accountable for their own goals. The best thing I have learned is to surround yourself with people that have similar goals as you! If you want more info you are welcome to email me at buriostegui85@gmail.com.
  • I would call my fitness level average. When I did the initial evaluation for Insanity, I was matching numbers with the trainers when they began. The only difference is that I don't have the endurance they do. I was completely dead at the end of the workout. Honestly, it's something I'd like to do at some point, but I think it'd be wise to start with something else first.

I'm leaning towards Jillian's workouts, or Supreme 90 with some extra cardio. It seems like people get good results from Jillian, but there's no difference in the day-to-day workouts like in Supreme 90. Ultimately, I just need to start something and stick with it. I was just wondering what everyone else found helpful and had success with! :-) And since I already have several programs, I'll prob pass of the Bridalicious workout.
  • a great all around video is 30 day shred by jillian michaels. When I want to work out int he am really quick before work I do that video, its about 25 minuets and it is great.
  • I have done them all and p90X gets my vote! You really get toned! I am currently doing Ideal Protein and have lost 24lbs in 7 weeks! After I phase out and reach my goal in about 2 mos., 50lbs lost, I will go back to P90X. Can't wait!

    Good luck!
