***Photo Question***

For those ladies that are using/used a photographer who gives your pics on a cd with rights to print. Where did you go have these printed out at ? Was this a better option than hiring a photographer who does the work for you ?

I have the CD but have only printed a few singles at home for various guests because we also got a 4x6 print of each shot with our package.  I have, however, used the CD for making our wedding album, albums for the parents, and to order a 20 x 24 canvas print.

If I need large quantities in the future, I plan to use Snapfish.  They have frequent sales (like .01 per print) and I have used them in the past with good results.  I've also heard good things about Shutterfly but have not used them for prints myself.

IMHO, it was well worth it to get the CD and the most cost effective option for us.

  • Thanks, I'm helping my BFF and she is on tight budget. I have found alot of photogrpahers that are cheap with great work that offers this service. Just wasnt sure about the printing.

  • I am signed up with shutterfly and they often offer 101 free prints and I have been printing photos this way. My package also came with an album from the photographer but of course that's more for portrait type photos. The album was important to me. I imagined people coming over and me having to dust off this huge, heavy thing and say oh here's our wedding album..lol...so my album has a glass cover..lol. Shutterfly also always has a deal for photobooks. I say if the photographer is great that's all that matters, you could DIY all the photos and albums.

  • I got my pics on a disc and printed all my pics I wanted and made my album and 4 parent albums. They turned out great and I saved a TON of money. Eveybody loves my wedding album and folks even say it look like a professional did it. I showed my photographer my book and he said I was going to put him put of business lol. I used Shutterfly. I have also used Snapfish and they work well too. I would recommend this option to everyone.
