Alternative to bubbles or bird seed??

I'm looking for an alternative to bubbles or bird seed as we leave the ceremony! I would love to release live butterflies, but that's a little more expensive than I would like.  Any suggestions??

    What about throwing rose petals? we did that at my sisters wedding and I thought it looked great, and was a cute touch.

    An Irish tradition is to ring bells. My cousin did this at her wedding and it was really nice.

    My mother got bells for us since I'm Irish. I know they did it as we were processing out of the church, but I forget if they did it when we walked out of the church after the receiving line had ended.

    I like the idea of ringing bells. At my local Wal-Mart, in the wedding section, you can get a box of 24 bells for about 6 bucks. Not a bad deal at all.

    My mom came up with an idea that I love - she's making little baskets or cones of dried lavendar and rose petals.  I think that will be really cool, and we'll smell nice! :-)
