Engagement Party tomorrow!

My mom decided to throw us an engagement party tomorrow so I'm really excited for it! She's so cute because she designed her own menu and even has her own color scheme! lol I just hope people dont bring gifts! There are so many expenses with a wedding, that I dont want anyone to feel like they have to (and frankly I dont want them to!)  We're also going to be going bridesmaids dress shopping on Sunday so I"m hoping to have another check!

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

    Some people are going to bring gifts.  Some people won't.  Some people just brought something small like a card or flowers to ours.  Have fun tomorrow!!  Sounds like you have a very busy and exciting weekend!

    Super boring weekend- which is just what I need.  I've been crazy sick this week and I just need to hang out.

    @melb- sorry to hear you are still sick, that's no fun!

    I have a weekend off work- which is a rarity- so I'm really excited to catch up with friends. Planning on going out tonight, then tomorrow FI's cousins are having their vows renewed, then going to the Reds game and to a friend's party after that. Relaxing on Sunday and hoping the weather is nice.

    @jmozul I know I brought a gift to my friends daughters engagment party. Some did some didnt. It was just a small gift. So some will some wont as mel said. Have a great time this weekend.

    Tomorrow I have a nail appt then relaxing with FI and the kiddos. Sunday me and the kiddos have 2 birthday parties to go to. Gonig to a busy weekend.

    Our engagement party is on Sunday!! LOL We decided to do a brunch so that there wasnt a lot of drinking and such.
    Traditionally you do not bring gifts to and engagment part, which is why we decided to have one instead of a shower. Some people still do though.

    I hope it is a blast!!

    Have fun! I will say, we had a decently sized engagement party and was I was REALLY surprised that nearly everyone brought a gift - and a lot of them were like "big" things! My mom's friends got us a new nice set of knives, a girlfriend got a le creuset pot for us..stuff like that. Lots of wine and champagne too. I was kinda shocked, but it was nice too :)

    Very exciting! We were gonna have an engagement party this summer but with the hectic months preceding my sister's wedding (next week) we really didn't give it much of a thought.  We may just end up doing without it at this point.  That is very exciting for you two, jmozul and turtleslove :-)  Have fun!  This weekend I will be taking a 7-hour CPR/First Aid/AED class and seeing Fiddler on the Roof.  Sunday will be a year since my FI proposed so we may end up doing something fun then, still haven't decided though.

    Have fun!! We didn't have one :( I was thinking my mom and FMIL would have surprised us since they were acting sneaky the one weekend but nope! O well from what I hear my bridal shower will be amazing!

    Have Fun!!!! I actually have this weekend off!!! YAY!!! Well my weekend started off with me passing my entrance exam for nursing school, then on Saturday it is our 4 year anniversary I can't believe it's only been four years!!! Seems sooo much longer we don't have anything major planned other than dinner, and the best part of the weekend would be that we are FINALLY getting our epics done this Sunday!!!

    The invitation for our engagement party said "no gifts please" and we still got about a dozen. Mostly small stuff-a couple of picture frames, champagne, etc

    Aw congrats!  Have fun at your party and don't worry if people bring gifts or not.  It's their own choice.  

    I work all today and tomorrow, and my FI works tonight and tomorrow night.  So not much is really going to happen other than work.
