The Commons in Topsfield

Has anyone had there wedding a the Commons in Topsfield or has been to a wedding there? We are leaning towards having our wedding there but I figured I'd get some input before we make our final decision! I know that it's really highly rated on wedding wire and a friend from worked raved about it. Any input and any drawbacks would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

My friend's sister had her wedding there and loved basically every moment of it. She said the staff was wonderful and the day could not have gone better.

I viewed it and really liked it.  I just couldnt fit in there because of guest list.  I loved how open it is and the high ceilings.  The people that worked there seemed nice too.  I have seen a few post on here about them and they all seemed really positive.  If you love it, book it!

I had my reception there in December and had the most amazing day.  The food was to die for, and the staff and service were flawless.  I would highly recommend them.  Let me know if you have any specific questions and I would be happy to try and answer them.

I haven't been to a wedding there, but we had a few school dances there in middle school, haha

It's a beautiful venue, IMO. And I love the area -- downtown Topsfield is adorable, you'd get some beautiful photos around the area. There's an historic barn across the street that has really pretty grounds, and I think there's a gazebo on the lawn in front of the Commons. Really pretty!

One of my best friends got married there 2 years ago and had a great experience. The space is really beautiful and the best part is that you have to bring in all of your own alcohol which saves you A TON of money! She did open bar for 1/4 of what my venue charges. She went through Vinwood Catering and the food was delicious!! Good luck!

We got married there in April 09.  Loved everything about it, from the location to the decor to the food... check out my full review in my married bio.  Can't say enough positive things about them. :)

How many people did you have in your wedding in december? What did you use the balcony and stage for? And did you have a room block anywhere? Thanks! :)

I am getting married there in September, and so far they have been great. Every other venue we had looked at seemed so "business like" but when we looked at the Commons  they took the time to go over every detail you could ever imagine. We were there for an hour and a half!

Great, thanks! yeah, that staff and all the positive feedback is the biggest reason, i think it may be it! I would have to budge on my june wedding date since someone else was putting in a deposit that day in for my date. I also wanted waterfront pictures, so i'll have to wager how important it was too me, so we'll see :)

jthennigar- we're thinking of an April 16, 2011 wedding now, glad to see it was 70 degrees for you! :) how far away did you travel to get your beach shots?
