Are you taking FI's last name? Will you drop your middle name or last name? Or did you decided to hyphenate?

I love my last name and the Italian heritage that goes with it. I also love my middle name because it's been in the family since the 1700's. I will legally be Firstname Middlename Maidenname FIlast name, but I will go by Firstname FIlastname

I'm legally going to be First Middle Maiden Married. My Maiden name is literally the ONLY thing I have left of my Dad and I'm not willing to give that up. My middle name is also a 'family' name that I'm not willing to give up because the people I share it with. I share the middle name with my mom, cousin and neice. Its also IN my sisters name as well...and hopefully one day IN my daughters if I have one.

I will be First, Middle, FILast. This was a hard decision for me, since I am an only child, as is my dad. However, my middle name is my mom's maiden name, and I didn't want to give that up either. I suppose, legally, I could be Jenna Middle Maiden LastName, but that seems like a lot.

FI and I have also decided that if we have little ones in the future, my maiden name will be used for the son(s) middle name.

I may have to practice my new signature again.

I am taking his name. I will be Mendi Jane FIlastname. I had my maiden name for 19 years. My first H's name for 19 years. I intend to be Mrs FI last name the rest of my life!

what!? so you can't legally change your last name?

I'm keeping my middle name and taking my fiance's last name. my married name will be christina fleming and that's a really common name! so keeping my middle name will help distinguish me from all the others.
i hate my maiden name and have no attachment to it!

I'm with Mendi on this one... I'll be Penny Lee FILastname. I had my maiden name for 23 years, my first husbands name for 16 years and back to my maiden name for 6. I can't wait to change it and have it be permanently Mrs. M.

I will be taking FIs last name, although some of you mentioned keeping your last name somehow and doing First, Middle, MyLast, FILast...maybe I will do that. I love my last name and my dads brother passed away young...and he is the only boy left who had two daughters. So it is sad out last name stops at us. : I also like the idea of maybe naming our kid with my last name as his or her middle. IDK. :

I will be hyphenating. I had my ex-H's last name for several years after our divorce, and I went through the legal name change process back in April to get my maiden name back since I didn't want to sign our marriage license with my ex's name. Now I'm kind of possessive of it. I don't care that it's my dad's last name (we don't have a relationship) but I do care that it's my mom's last name since we're really close and it helps keep my connection to her. Plus I'm not a big fan of FI's last name with my first name. I go by my middle name so that wouldn't be a big deal, but when my legal name is used I wouldn't like it.

So I will be First Middle Maiden-Married.
