I may be going way TMI that week but I have to ask it....

Do you pee in the shower?

Some how this topic came up recently and I was horrified to find out Fi does. Then the more I asked I found out that a lot of people do. My brother who is a doctor also told me that urine is extremely sterile. I still don't get it though.

So am I the odd man out here?

    Um...NO. 

    So gross.

    I peed in a lot of random places out in the woods when I ran cross-country, but civilized/indoor places are completely different.  Gack.

    DH has a relaxed general view on the appropriateness of a peeing location after having served in Iraq, but it applies only to other people.  Meaning "eh, he peed in the sink - no real biggie.  Wait, OUR SINK?  I'll kill him!"

    He's funny that way.  :)


    ETA: this sort of reminds me of one of the first Big Brother seasons where one of the housemates dipped another one's toothbrush in the toilet.  HIs argument was "I don't have to tell her; it may be gross, but urine is sterile."  Beyond the fact that that's not all that's in a toilet bowl, I was just totally disgusted.  I don't care if pee is sterile - I dammwell want to know if my toothbrush has been dipped in it so that I can use it to assault the person who'd do such a disgusting thing.  ;P

    Ick no.

    This does remind me of another thread that happened on my month board, and then again on chit chat.  I was shocked to find out how many couples pee with the door open.  I guess I am very private about my bathroom habits.

    No...but When I was 9 months pregnant, once in awhile I did. For one...the urge to pee is horrible when your that big and two..it wasnt so easy to get in and out of the shower.

    Update:

    It DOES happen in my house.

    Although I can assure you...after the conversation we just had, it will not be happening again.

    I've done it before, like if FI is hogging the toilet and I'm in the shower (we only have 1 bathroom but the shower/toilet is separated by a door). I don't like to do it because it smells gross.

    You can save a lot of water by peeing in the shower :) haha

    I don't.  I also find it gross.  Randomly, my FI and I had this conversation a few years ago and he too thought it was gross.

    <div>Same. I think the last time I did it was because I couldn't wait. I have a really sensitive bladder, which is embarassing (and I pack extra clothes in my car "just in case"). However, I clean my shower floor regularly because the idea of all your germs washing off your body onto the bottom of the shower and only <em>some </em>of it going down the drain grosses me out. </div>

    Sad to say some of the males I have known do it in the shower. I think it's a convenience thing. HOWEVER, I have not. Now, the lake is a different story (probably just as gross, but there are never enough bathrooms there)

    Same here. I have bladder issues after having 2 C-sections, so if I'm in the shower and I have to pee, I'm doing it or I'll pee on the floor trying to get to the toilet. Also, urine is sterile and I don't do it everyday all day. Plus, I'm OCD and clean the shower like 100000000000000x a day lol.
