Charlotte anything reviews!!!

Hi Ladies,

I am currently a grad student at USC- Columbia and am doing my best to plan a wedding for next June 2011 while I am in school. Money is tight and so is time and I could use any suggestions for wedding planning (food, photography, venues, etc). I would love the simplistic beauty of an outdoor wedding (ah what do I do about possible rain!), love twinkle lights and candles. Alcohol is a priority for my fiance, so in trying to keep cost down we would love a place that allows us to bring our own alcohol. Photography is THE most important element to me but I would love to not break the bank.

Anything Charlotte...HELP!!!

I am getting married in June 2011 too!! I see from your profile you are getting married the following Saturday after I am! So i can reccomend my vendor..so far Carrigan Farms (click)of Moorseville has been really awesome to work with.  Doug is really laid back.  The weddings take place on a beautiful lake in the middle of a farm.  There is no rental fee if you go with their preferred caters.  So its not a break the bank as other places.  Oh don't be put off by the website its not the best but it has good pics and check out the video!

Check out roof with a view and the mint musuems in Charlotte also.

I am having to check out other photogs bc my first choice is booked.

I'm in Raleigh, so I'm not much help.  I'm not sure what your budget is for a photographer, but a lot of girls on this board use The Schultzes in Charlotte.  They're a husband-wife team and they do AMAZING work.  Google them and check out their blog.

Carrigan Farms is beautiful and Doug is really nice.  I dated a guy a long time ago that worked there.  Its really beautiful.

I'm getting married at the Victorian Villa Inn off of Lake Wylie in a month, its beautiful too.  They are letting us bring our own alcohol and it will save a bunch especially when I looked at other places.

    Happy planning and congratulations!

I am using JT Photography in Charlotte and Tonya is wonderful and has great prices.  They have a videography package with Luana Productions too.  Also, the Flower Boutique in Matthews has been very helpful.

Get to know our NC bio created bio NC knottie Brides.

If you have any further questions about the vendors you find on there ask away but it is THE place to start.

I used the Schultzes as our photographers and HIGHLY without hesitation recommend them. They are not on the budget end of things however... but at the least I encourage an engagement session with them if your photography is of importance to you. You will not regret the money spent.

I am using Fort Mill Photography.  I love them and would highly recommend them!!

I have a friend who is also getting married Victoria Inn on Lake Wylie, and it is very beautiful and you can bring your alcohol.

The Dairy Barn in Fort Mill, SC is also a very beautiful outside place to get married.

    Good luck everything.

Most of our vendors are in our Charlotte area although we are getting married outside of Asheville. One thing I've noticed is a lot of vendors are slow to respond.  These vendors were prompt and had the best value for the pricing.

    Candice Davis Photography - http://www.candicedavisphotography.com
She is FABULOUS and her pricing is great.  Her and her husband do the photography.  We've gotten rave reviews on our engagement pictures and I can't wait to have our wedding pictures.  I had my disc of my engagement pictures 2 days after taking them.

All the Right Grooves - http://www.therightgrooves.com
Jill is fabulous! I knew we were going to use her DJ service right after we met.  She's all about making sure its exactly what you are looking for with music.  Highly recommend!

NY Bride -  LOVED my experience at this bridal salon.  I was referred there by a friend who got married a few months ago.  They are not pushy and will do as little assistance or as much assistance as you need.  They have a great selection of brides and bridesmaid dresses.  I definitely highly recommend checking out their salon.

Connie Duglin Linen -  They have an office in Charlotte...and they were very easy to work with.  They have great prices on their linens...was very excited to come across these.

Some of the venues I've seen, I do agree with the PP...the Dairy Barn is a fabulous venue! I have met the Wedding Coordinator several times and she seems to be a pleasure to work with.  The Holiday Inn Center City is a fabulous venue...I've seen a couple of weddings there.  I attended a reception at Tega Cay Golf Club last night.  This is a fairly new venue and was very nice...the food was great too!  Cedarwood County Club off of Pineville Matthews Road had amazing food! The dish we were served was absolutely amazing.

I'm doing my whole shindig at Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure.  We started dating when we were in college at Western Carolina so we kind of wanted something going back towards the mountains.  I've been extremely pleased with all of my dining choices, ceremony location, reception location and so far there hasn't been anything that I've asked about that has been a problem.  Wahoo!
