Bridal Shower/Bacholorette

LaughingHi! I'm a bridesmaid in my girlfriends wedding...and I'm wanting to get some ideas for you all.

We're having her shower and bacholorette party on the same day... a brunch/lunch shower...and then the bach. party that evening. Has anyone done theirs in the same day? I'm just stumped for some reason for her shower. I dont want it to be cheesy....and dont really want to have too much of a theme....But then that kind of leaves me with no ideas to kind of make it unique. What were some of your showers like?

For the bacholorette, the bride has said strictly nothing penis.... which is suprising because she is a wild woman- but doesn't want her mom to see that side of her. Anyway, thats ok, we're thinking of either getting shirts made for all of us...(cheesy?...) or all the wedding party getting little black dresses and getting fun wigs? I've seen people do this and it looked too fun! She wants to get a bus, and go to a winery, and out to dinner...then bar hopping. She also wants to meet up with the guys after we do some of our stuff. I just want to make its fun for her and memorable. And am drawing blanks. Any imput would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I had one of my showers and my bachelorette party the same day--set up a lot like yours. It was easier since I lived OOT, as did many guests at both events.

One of my showers was at a restaurant and brunch was served. We ate and then I opened gifts. At another, it was at someone's house. We had homemade chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad, cupcakes, etc. We ate and then I opened gifts. At this one we played a couple games; at the other, we didn't. I could personally do without games, but a lot of people like them.

For the bachelorette, it sounds like she gave you some ideas of what she'd find fun. I'd go with that. For my MOH's, we all wore wigs, which was fun. I'm generally not a fan of coordinating outfits or wearing matching shirts, as those shirts you could probably never wear again (at least I wouldn't wear a bridesmaid shirt on any other day). I think maybe just do wigs if you do anything attire-related.

I have no idea what is going on for my bridal shower(s).  I have bridesmaid-zillas who all want to take control of the situation and I'm almost ready to just say "stop whining and arguing, I'll plan my own damn shower!"  For the bachelorette party however, we are renting a classic car and dressing up in 50s/60s style clothes and hitting the town.

For the bridal shower you could do a pamper party to make it unique.  One of my friends had a company called "Pamper My Party" do massages and spa treatments while we all ate and while she opened presents.  We all chipped in and bought her massage.  I think Pamper My Party does spa parties all over the country.  Good Luck!
