TGIF

What do you have going on this weekend?

For me:

Rain!

And my dad's in town for a conference, so we're having dinner tonight.

My life is crazy, clearly.

Re: TGIF

  • I know you're happy about the rain, so yay for that!

Apparently a majority of the state is supposed to get snow/storms, but the Fargo area should be avoided, so that's good.  I hope it's not too crazy elsewhere, as H's brothers are supposed to be coming down for the football game tomorrow.

It's a little crazy at work today, earlier this week my boss (who is in Chicago for meetings) informed me of a case that has to be filed by today, so it's been hectic getting all of that worked out.
  • i have a 3 day weekend for Veteran's day.

headed to a comedy show tonight, exercise and church tomorrow, not sure what's up on sunday yet and i may get some end of season walking done on the beach monday since we are supposed to be in the high 60's!  crazy weather!
  • I have some serious catching up to do at home with pretty much all the usual (going through mail, laundry, dishes, cleaning) and also have my sister's baby shower on Sunday :)  This was just one of those really exhausting weeks and I'm glad that it's almost over...
  • I kind of have a three-day weekend.  Monday I'll be in training all day, so while it's still work, it's nice to kind of break out of the routine.

My MIL is in town for the weekend -- tonight is H's birthday and she's cooking dinner for him (she even brought pans in case I didn't have what she'd need) and I hope she's not too bored at home.  H asked for a fireplace set for his birthday, and we're supposed to get some pretty big storms on Sunday, so I'm looking forward to snuggling under a blanket in front of a big fire this weekend.  =)

  • Ah, sitting in front of a fireplace sounds wonderful!  I really hope whatever house H and I end up buying has one.
  • My weekend is very up-in-the-air....I'm watching my sister's kids while she's still in the hospital.  She might come home tomorrow, or it might not be until Sunday or Monday.  So I may end up hanging out with my niece and nephew all weekend, or I may not.  Tonight my BIL is taking the kids out to dinner, and then bringing them to the hospital for some family time with the new baby, so I'll have some time between 5-8.  I think I'll go to the gym, then go hang out with my cats some (they are sure to miss me, since I've only been home to feed them in the last few days).

Professor, a fire sounds lovely!  I can't wait to have a fireplace someday.  There's something so cozy about a nice fire that goes beyond the warmth, you know?

Calypso, we're having some fairly nice weather today/tomorrow, too, after the beginning of the week was pretty darn cold!

This weekend is not planned at all. We need to pick readings for our Convalidation next month, but other than that, we don't have a single thing planned. H has dental surgery today so probably a lot of relaxing for the most part.

  • We got almost 10" of snow last night, so it's a winter wonderland here :o)  Just a nice relaxing weekend planned here.  Should be nice!

  • resa, did you ever figure out that issue with your heartrate at the gym?
  • I have a 3 day weekend as well.  Tomorrow I'm going to try on my dress, it came in 2 months early!  We are going out for dinner to the Top of the Hub for my MOH's birthday, I'm super excited since I've never been there before.  An excuse to dress up and go out.  Sunday, FI has a Veteran's day event at the state house, so I might tag along for that.  We have our 2nd meeting with the pastor on Monday.  Looking forward to picking out readings and music for the wedding.  Hopefully we'll get some relaxing in there as well.

    Enjoy your weekends!
  • susie:  you will love the top of the hub!  and you will have a clear night for it which makes the experience even better.  they  used to have live jazz on fridays and saturday nights i think at 8 or 9 - not sure if they still do.

they also have killer  blueberry mojitos.
  • Calypso -- No, I've just been careful to keep an eye on my HR while I work out.  I'm hoping that with more exercise, I'll see it start getting a little lower.  It seems like my resting HR is about 100, which isn't good.

Blueberry mojito?  Omg that sounds amazing!!  You know what I LOVE?  The ginger mojito at PF Changs.  I didn't think I'd like it, but I tried H's once and I had to order one for myself!

  • Fi's goddaughter's confirmation is tomorrow in NJ. So we're leaving early with his parents to make the drive down. I guess they only get 6 seats in the church, and we didn't make the cut so we're just going to the afterparty.

I kind of did a modge-podge of what you ladies suggested.

I found a "tween"-age daily devotional journal for girls at our local christian bookstore. He'll write a nice message in the cover, and tuck money into it as well. I did find out her saint - Saint Katharine Drexel, and so I learned a little something today from google :)

  • well, I was on my way to Jamaica yesterday to attend my nephews wedding but they cancelled my flight at the last minute because of the Nor'easter.  All the flights are booked and believe me, I tried everything!

I'm sitting in NYC feeling sorry for myself while my entire family is off partying in the sun :(

Their ceremony is on the beach and the reception at Rose Hall.  Everything is at Half Moon Bay.  I'm jealous.
