Order of BM/GM

I'm having trouble figuring out how to match up the wedding party and the order to have them enter the ceremony and reception.. and pictures.. I have the order that I want for my BMs based on "impact" then I felt like it made sense to match up with the GM they'd get along well with, but I'm not sure FI will like the result for his GM. Maybe I'm overthinking this whole thing!!!

Would love to hear how you ladies made your decisions!!

I started with Impact on my life...so better friends who have really been there for me more 1st and then when I came to someone who was somewhat equal I looked at FI's side (because his was done by significance as well) and choose the better fit.

I put "Impact" I'm not doing mine by height or any other order other than I have my Maid of Honor who is my best friend of 31 years. My Matron of Honor is a really good friend who encouraged me to date FI and then I am having my future SIL and my current SIL in the wedding. Both their husbands are grooms men and we are matching them up so they can be with each other. My SIL said she was fine being last so she could walk with her husband (my brother) and that's fine by me. I'm only having 4 bridesmaids. I originally had her then my future SIL last but she volunteered so that would be fine.

I'm doing 'impact' as well. Since I only have three, it was pretty easy, and FIs side has 4, so also easy, but even if we had had more, it definitely would have been done based on who we are closest to, not how tall they are or their personalities.

The only time our BM and GM will be matched up will be when they walk down the aisle, which will only be about 30 seconds.

BM is doing his by impact. (3 guys)

I am doing mine by my MOH/sister first (she's wearing purple) , the my 2 BM's I did them kinda equal. The one who looks better in green is next, and then the other in purple and then my JrBM (step-daughter) is last in green...

Obviously the MOH and BM are the people most important to you. After that I paired people by how I thought they would get along. One is a married couple so I obviously put them together.

I did it by height since most of our wedding party on both sides are family. If we did by impact, we'd have been in an awkward spot, I think. We love our family and to make some more important than others would have been tough and we just wanted to steer clear of all of that. Especially with my MOHs. They are both my sisters!

So besides our MOHs and BM, it goes by height. Also, 3 of my BMs are my really good friends who I've known longer than my FSIL. They have had a bigger impact! It just didn't work out. I wasn't trying to be all symmetrical (we have 7 BMs, 5 GMs), it just was easier to pair up that way.

I did mine by impact, which also happened to be friends first and then family. Two of them are my best friends and the other two are FI's sisters.

For FI, I lined his up by impact as well. His best man is his brother and then his four groomsmen. The last two guys are his brother and mine, but they're at the end because they're walking our mom's up the aisle and then joining the guys at the front.

Ahhh, I see. Our parents are getting seated before our bridal party walks out. But that makes a lot of sense.

My BM will be entering according to the color of the dress they have one. I only have 3 and they are different shades of blue. So the lightest colored dress will come in first. I put this girl in this specific dress since she is the least pasty of us all. The next lightest will come in after her and then my MOH will be the last on to come in in the darkest of the shades. The first two BM will be walking with their GM who will match the color dress they have one. The MOH will enter alone and walk in right before me.

The matching fo the guys was done by the BM first of course then my brother behinde him and then our friend Billy after that. It was just the order that made the most sense to us. That and Billy is like 6'4" and he would look funny being that tall in the middle.

Beside's my sister I'm doing it by height. I don't get the impact thing- if I chose them to be in my bridal party they are obviously an important part of my life. No offence to anyone doing it this way but it's like saying you're the least important of the important people.

The women are in order that I have known them... My sister, BFF since 2nd grade, BFF since 6th grade, His sister... The men are just in the order that made since... almost highest impact... but really just the so that they'll have some one to talk to during dinner...
