Groosmen in Cowboy Boots dilemma

Hi all :)

My wedding is an outdoor wedding. My girls are in strapless dresses that have an adorable ruffled, short skirt. They are going to be in cowboy boots.

HOWEVER! I am unbelievably confused as to what to do with my man's groomsmen so that they match this western look we are going for. I have thought about doing Cinch Jeans + White Shirt + Vest + Cowboy boots. My only qualm with this is I don't want to look back and be upset that they didn't go more formal for this special occasion, as we always see them in jeans and boots.

I have also considered a tan-ish suit that would look well with BROWN boots. I really am not a big fan of black boots for the guys and his men really weren't thrilled with that idea either.

Any other ideas?

  • I don't know if this is of any help, but I was in a similar situation and this is what I decided.  My girls are wearing cotton sateen dresses with brown cowboy boots, but we wanted the guys a little more formal. I don't know what your colors are, but we used ours (blues) and this is what we got. We went with khaki pants and vests with blue shirts. The groom will wear a sports coat as well. Good Luck.

  • We are doing the black jeans with black cowboy boots, a vest, and a white western shirt. My FI is more comfortable in this attire and this is his day too. He actually picked out what he wanted to wear.

Let your FI pick out what he wants to wear. If you want to tie in the color of the bridesmaid dresses, that can be used for the vest.

  • My sister originally wanted to go for a similar look and have the GM in cowboy boots, but none of them already owned a pair and it's really rude to ask them to buy some just for the wedding, so they just wore regular dress shoes.  Both my sister and her H wore cowboy boots though and it looked fine all together.  Honestly, people hardly notice the WP shoes, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
