Allergies

I'm concerned about allergy/food choices for my wedding guests.  My coordinator told me I didn't need any specific wording on my response cards, that people will let me know, but I'm having a hard time with that.

Is there any specific entree/food wording that you've used and found appropriate?

Re: Allergies

  • I put something on our wedding website about it, but that was it.  If guests have food allergies, they will let you know.  They've had to deal with it before, so they know how to handle it.
  • I agree - the guests who would have food allergies have been dealing with that issue their entire lives so they'll let you know ahead of time on their own so try not to worry.

You could also just use word of mouth - for instance I'm sure your mom/FI's mom would know of allergies within their respective families, and I'd think you would know by now if any of your friends were allergic to any common foods.
  • "Please note any dietary restrictions or allergies on the reverse" is the phrase at the bottom of our RSVP cards.
