Does anyone know what store has the biggest selection of Maggie Sottero Dresses in the area (I live in Allen Park, but willing to drive 30-45 min)...I have tried on a few of her dresses and fell in love with the fit of them, but have a list of around 20 that I want to try on in person!

Also, I'm looking into Greenfield Village (Lovett Hall Reception, Garden Ceremony), or Silver Shores in Wyandotte for my venue...any experience with either one?

    I think Dior has a decent selection of Maggie gowns, so you might call them and see if they have the styles you like.

    I'm having my reception at Silver Shores on November 20th. So far I have been really happy with them. I'm planing from Seattle, and they are always really prompt returning emails and phone calls.  My FI did a tasting labor day weekend with his mom and was really impressed with the food. I also have a friend who has attended two events there. She had nothing but good things to say about it. Except she did mention that the alfredo sauce wasn't that great.

    Thank you!  I will definitely take a look at Dior.  I can't wait to see your reviews of SS after your wedding!  I'm sure it will be beautiful!  That's gotta be hard planning from out of town...

    I second Dior. I got my Maggie there and they have a very nice selection to pick from!

    I had my wedding at The Henry Ford Museum last fall.  The staff and food is the same as what they use for Lovett Hall and I have nothing but positive things to say about them.  I still get compliments about the food to this day almost exactly one year ago.  You really can't go wrong with them.  Good luck!

    Thank you Higgyfan!  I met with them (Greenfield VIllage) yesterday, and they really seemed to have it together...Do you have vendor reviews/pics from your wedding?  Sorry I tried to find them but I'm new and still trying to figure this site out:)

    I third Dior for Maggie dresses. That's where I ordered mine from. Although I had a less than thrilling experience with them. You might also want to check out the Maggie Sottero website to make sure those 20 dresses you want to try on are even available in Michigan. Sometimes they're not available.

    Thanks Corinne I made an appointment with Dior for Thursday.....what was your bad experience?  I have unfortunately had a few bad experiences (namely @ David's Bridal) at a few shops....

    Thanks for the warning about the dresses not being available, I hope that a good majority of them are!  Most of the ones I like are pretty similar so it shouldn't be a huge problem.  I also noticed on Dior's website that they are having a Maggie Sottero Trunk Show in October with all of the new styles available to try on and purchase at a discount.  

    What Maggie dress did you end up buying??

    They had a trunk show last year in September which is why I ordered my dress from there. I found my dress from a different store and ordered it at Dior because they were giving 10-15% off Maggie dresses if you purchased it during their show. When I picked up the dress, I did not have a very good experience. The women were not helpful at all. I had to ask a few times for a slip and a pair of shoes. I also just helped myself to a dressing room because I was standing in the front area with my mom and BM's waiting to get a room.

    The Maggie dress I got was Vogue Royale. I loved it. And I still do. I want to put it on and walk around my house. Seriously. I did not want to take it off.

    I met with Shannon at Silver Shores a few times - she is really great. I'm planning on making an appt. with Greenfield Village but I'm a little worried because I'm sure I will love it but won't be able to afford it, but I figure I have time to figure it out. One thing I love about a long engagement! LOL We will see. I am also going to check out the Dearborn Inn because I have heard great reviews for there as well.

    Def have to keep in touch regarding planning!! I'm really curious to see where we both end up! :)

    I also vote for Dior! Bella Donnas had quite a few Maggies there too when I was dress hunting.

    Oh and to answer your first question: I love the Autumn, Dayle, Hilary, Holly styles. I am really into the satin for some reason....

    I went to a Maggie Trunk Show at Eleizabeths Bridal in Northville over the weekend.  They are beautiful dresses.  Look at her website for the next trunk show cause you get 10% off. The lady there said Maggie dresses are traveling around MI for now.  You can order, you dont have to buy the sample. 
    Also,  Im looking into booking Silver Shores.  I think its georgous!!!  I love the water.  Were going back on Sunday to put down a deposit.

    That's awesome!  Do you happen to remember if Silver Shores has a guest minimum/and or price minimum for booking?

    I know the guest max is 220 and thats what we are having so if there is a minimum she prob didnt mention it cause we are gonna fill the place lol.  Keep me (us) posted on what you do.  I will also keep you updated about Silver Shores.  We are putting the deposit down on Sunday to book Sept 17, 2011.  Out of ALL (maybe 20) halls Ive looked at, their prices are very reasonable.  I love the look so thats what sold me.

    I just went to Dior in Dearborn and was really dissapointed.  I went to Victori's in Dearborn and found 2 I love.  I have tried on over 100 dresses and am so happy now that I have found 2 : ).  Vicoria's in o nFord Rd and is crammed inside but they have a ton to choose from.  Both I like are Cassablanca's.

    Hi knotties! AND fellow Allen Park brides!!

    I tried on quite a few Maggie dresses at Bella Donna's in Wyandotte. Try there, but if you go, see Nancy. She is soooo helpful and sweet.  She basically waits on you hand and foot, and is truly happy to do so.  You can tell she loves her job. I did buy my dress there, but it was a Christina Wu.

    Also about Silver Shores, I was warned that at times in the summer the fish smell from the water overwhelms your wedding. Just something to think about.
