Could use some advice on Baseball Themed Vows

Now I know that some of you cringed at the name of this post but hear me out. My fiance and I are HUGE baseball fans and it was and still is a major part of our relationship. However, we thought an entire baseball themed wedding would be a little too much. So I'd really like to write baseball themed wedding vows and I was wondering if anyone could help. Please and thank you

I would suggest including the baseball theme elsewhere. Maybe your favors? Or cupcakes with baseball icing. The Vows are really special and important, since they are the commitments you are making to each other. I think if you make the vows "themed", you risk your wedding ceremony sounding cheesy and like a big joke.

There are lots of ways to incorproate a baseball imagine or theme without doing the whole thing baseball related.

I agree. Our minister incorporated some personal information about us into the ceremony, and some of it was humorous, but the vows themselves were serious. I just don't think the vows are the place to make jokes.

Glad you have your pictures. For a moment I was worried this was my son and his bride. I agree with the other posters who suggested you find other ways to bring in your baseball theme.

You really shouldn't put your theme in your vows. These are essentially terms of a contract that you recite to eachother and it is not something to take lightly.

ok, i'm going to be the only one to say that i think this is a cute idea..yes, the vows are serious, but if you love baseball the way i love things i'm passionate about, baseball is serious to you too. i say go for it, just make sure they don't get too cheesy. get a fellow bball lover to edit them, maybe. and screw what everyone who is not you and your future spouse thinks.

I agree that vows are serious but you could make the vows serious and add something cute in them like " I promise to honor and cherish through sickness and health and when the (baseball team of choice) win or lose." They can still be beuatiful and serious but you could add just a little one liner in there to get people to chuckle

I'm going middle of the road here. I think the majority of your vows should be "straight" as in not full of baseball, however, I do think a one -liner in there would be cute like, " I promise to honor and cherish through sickness and health and when the (baseball team of choice) win or lose." as another poster suggested.

It keeps your vows serious but shows the personal side too. If I heard a lot of baseball chatter in your vows I wouldn't take it very seriously, but I would appreciate a one-liner in there that showed something about your personal side.

Just remember that your vows are your sacred promises to each other and that needs to be the emphasis. Too much baseball chatter takes away from that.
