Christie Thompson - Kauai

Hello~I was wondering if any of the Kauai brides used Christie Thompson for hair&make-up?  I have been in contact with her and she says that she will do my hair and make-up that day, but when I asked her about deposits or contracts, she just said that she will collect her fees the day of.  All the other vendors I've been working with require at least some deposit now and full balance either a month before the wedding or the day of.  I'm just nervous that without me putting any deposit, she may forget or book someone else.Just wondering if anyone else used her and if the whole non-deposit situation worked. TIA!

    Hi! I used Dianne Gardner in Kauai for my hair and make-up and she didn't require a contract or deposit either. She told me that she only books one appointment each day. I emailed her quite a lot before the wedding so she wouldn't forget about me! She showed up early the day of the wedding and did a wonderful job!! LOVED HER!! So to me the no contract or deposit thing turned out to be not a big deal.

    I know this is an old post but I just thought I'd leave my opinion for any brides looking for a hair/makeup person in Kauai. I also used Christie and me and my 2 bridesmaids all hated our hairstyles :( I loved the makeup, the pricing was great, and she was very nice and professional. The hair though was another story. Partially my fault because I didn't bring in a picture. Even so, the styles done just looked odd to everybody. I asked for a messy bun but it just looked sloppy and flat, rather than messy-on-purpose, if that makes any sense. I also asked for some volume at the top but there was none at all. For the bridesmaids I asked for some volume at the top and a ponytail in back. She added some flair to make it less plain but the flair made it worse. One bridesmaid said she felt like a horse :( There wasn't enough time to re-do anything so we just kept the hairstyles. I had a veil on so I didn't mind as much but I tossed all pictures where you could see my bun. Both bridesmaids took their hair down as soon as the ceremony was over and kept their hair down for the reception.
