Check out Puccini's, Grand Banks Cafe, Soul Flavors (probably best if you have 30 people or less)

I'm having mine at Vespa's Restaurant in Edgewater. They a nice reserved room and good italian food.

I just ate at O'Connells on Montgomery Street and the food was excellent and they do private parties.

If you can travel into Bayonne, I would suggest going to Da Noi, Amici's, Piccolinos.

We ate at a place called LITM for my friend's bachelorette party. They have a full bar and display local artists' work. The food and service were both good. The name stands for "love is the message" which is random, but kinda perfect for your purposes!
