Fi just called me in meltdown mode. He quit his job over the weekend because 2 of his athletes said they wanted him to come work for them instead of for their team. They told him it was a go and he could quit so it was out in the open and he could leave when they needed him to. He was supposed to finish out the week but because of some ego drama with his old boss flipping out about leaving to go work for himself, FI came home on Tuesday for a week before leaving for his new job. So when he called, he said one of the players was now saying he wasn't sure if he wanted to work with FI because he's never worked out during season before! The 2 players were supposed to split FI's living costs (since it is seasonal work) and then pay him for training. Well when the first player found out the second player might pull out, he seemed to start to waiver at being the only one to train with him and having to cough up all of the expenses. So right now, less than a week before he was supposed to start he's not sure if he has a job any more! These guys would have totally screwed him. FI is obviously freaked out. And, so am I but I need to be the calm one to keep FI calm, so needed an outlet. Plus, my confession today was about how sad I was we'd rarely see each other with this job (and I talked to FI about it this am) so I feel like I totally jinxed it! I know it isn't actually my fault but now I feel like an a$$ for complaining!!!!!!!More than the money or anything (we can make it work somehow, someway) I'm afraid of what this would do to FI. He has had some set backs in his career (mainly concentrated in the past 2 years too) and isn't where he wants to be. He thought this was going to be his big break and I feel like one more set back would just absolutely crush him. T&P please!!!!

Sending huge vibes your way, I don't know if people think or care about how they disrupt others lives when they make decisions and then back out suddenly. People need to learn to commit.
[QUOTE]I'm out of the loop, he is some type of athletic trainer? Sending huge vibes your way, I don't know if people think or care about how they disrupt others lives when they make decisions and then back out suddenly. People need to learn to commit.

He's a strength and conditioning coach. Sorry if any of it was vague or confusing. He works with some high profile athletes so I try to not give too many details since he prefers I keep who he trains private. They love to do business via text and there are sometimes language barriers so hoping it is all a big misunderstanding. FI did tell both of them in response to texts "You told me you were in on this and I quit my job to work with you. If you guys back out on me, I'm unemployed." So hoping saying it that way will get them to realize how screwed up this is.
[QUOTE]Sending lots of knottie vibes! Tell him to get them to sign contracts with him. (He probably should have done this before quiting, but hindsight is 20/20, blah blah.)

He actually had sent one of them a contract to his financial advisor and it was approved essentially but they were just tweaking it. The other guy he has been working with for years so he did unfortunately just take his word for it. Fi has been going back and forth with the financial advisor though and yesterday they worked out a number, had him commit to a place to live, had him book a flight up and set up transport for his truck. Since there are a lot of emails pushing this forward with agreement from their side, I'm thinking we could potentially take some sort of legal action but I'm not sure (not a lawyer by any means). Hoping it just doesn't get to that point and they wake up and realize they offered him a job and need to be good for their offer.
Thank you ladies for the vibes!
