walking down the aisle

Hey Ladies,
How are you having your wedding party walk down the aisle? Are your Groomsmen walking with the Bridesmaids? We are not having ushers so our groomsmen will act as ushers.

Happy Thursday! We are almost to the weekend :)

    We are having our girls walk down the isle by themselves. After the wedding they will be escorted by the groomsmen.

    We have uneven numbers, so I think that the BMs will walk down the aisle alone. Then after the ceremony, they will walk down in pairs and one girl will have two guys.

    We're struggling with this decision. We would really like for our families to walk down the aisle after everyone else is seated, and I thought it would be nice for FI to walk down with his mom. So our procession might go something like this:

    • His dad & his sister
    • My mom & my sister/BM
    • His friend/GM & my friend/BM & his friend/GM
    • Usher & Usheress/Reader
    • FI & his mom
    • Me & my dad

    Or possibly this:

    • Usher & Usheress/Reader
    • His sister & his dad & his mom
    • My mom & my dad
    • His friend/GM & my sister/BM
    • His friend/GM & my friend/BM
    • FI
    • Me & my dad

    Although now that I look at it, I think I like the second option better.

    At the beginning of the ceremony, the girls will walk down the aisle by themselves, with the groomsman waiting at the front of the church with FI.  Afterwards, the groomsmen will escort the bridesmaids out.  We have uneven numbers (one more groomsman than bridesmaid), so two of the guys will escort one of the girls back down the aisle together.  I have seen it done so many ways that I think as long as you and your wedding party are happy with it, no one at the wedding will notice or care for that matter.
