Where the **** did the time go?!

I've been engaged since last April 13, so our engagement will be exactly 1 year and 6 months. I always bitched about how long our engagement is and all of a sudden I'm under 5 months, with 2 pages of things to do. The biggest check I need to complete is getting my other 3 BMs and my MOH to order their dresses. I'm not too worried about it though. Other than that, there are things that can't be completed until these last few months. I'm horribly afraid the reception people won't decorate how I want. I'd really rather do it myself, but they like to be "helpful" and set up for us. Anyway, where did the time go? I have a feeling these last few months will fly....and I won't relax at all.

    I know! We've been engaged since 1/1/11...so I know how you feel! I've been studying for the NCLEX and totally neglecting wedding stuff! I can't wait to get back to figuring it all out!

    Yeah, I am with you.  We've been engaged since 05/27/11, so not quite as long as y'all, but still seems like it was forever ago.  And now with coming on 5 months left, I am definitely starting to freak out a bit.  I have a huge list of things to do, but I find myself not wanting to do them.  I'm so tired of wedding related stuff right now and I have no motivation to do anything other then get on theknot! lol

    Hehe I'm with everyone else on this one.  We've been engaged since 12/15/10 and it seemed sooooo far away.  Now I feel like it's coming so fast and I can't wait!

    I totally agree!  We have been engaged since 8/10.  I remember we picked this date to get us time to save and all that but wow it went ssoooo fast and doesn't seem to be slowing down.  Before we know it, we will all be saying 'I do"

    I'm so glad I'm not the only one feeling this way.. having major anxiety over here!  we were engaged 11/12/10 and it seemed like forever... this is scary!

    AGREED with all!!  We got engaged 11/24/10...I remember having so much time!!  I had all the "BIG" Stuff Early 2011, and have been slowly working on all the little details.  And we have a BUSY summer coming up too...so it will be here in NO time at all

    Brittany~I agree, im SOOOO scared that my "vision" will look crappy, and thrown together.  My recent thing bugging me is all the music that needs to be picked out and "how" to start laying out a Program

    Oh my gosh!  I am so glad that I have not had to wait as long as all of you!  I couldn't imagine.  I've only been engaged since Christmas, so I'm just half way through, but I can't wait for it to get here!!!  We will all get our lists done and have fantastic weddings!!!

    I'm totally with you ladies!! Remember when we couldn't wait until our tickers started moving?  It's crazy how little time there is left and how fast the last 4 months are going to fly!!

    Yes!!  We got engaged in 6/10, and with such a long engagement, "We have plenty of time!" was practically my mantra for the longest time.  It will be here before we know it.  I am so excited to marry my best friend! :)

    Wow, a lot of you ladies have had long engagments! I couldn't have done that.  As it is I just want the day to come.  We've been engaged since early December and a 10 month engagement is long enough.  For the past 2 months we haven't really done anything since I got so many things done right away but I think the summer is going to be busy!!

    We were engaged 3.5.2010!! I seriously cannot believe we are less than 5 months away! I never thought it would come and now I want it to be further away still...there is just so much to do!

    We've been engaged 'officially' since Christmas 2011, and I am with ya!  All of a sudden, it's MAY and I'm like "We have 5 months...holy cow, 5 months.... Crap!"

    Yup, we've been engaged since June 21st last year and will have been engaged 16 months less a day when we get married. Suddenly there's 5 months left, crazy!

    I am the total opposite. We got engaged 12/10 and I still feel like it is SO FAR AWAY and never going to happen. Ugh. I wish I felt like you ladies. This 22 month engagement is taking a toll on me. I think the difference in feeling is because we had to push our wedding back so his Princess of a sister could have her wedding "year". UGH!!!

    I'm with the Christmas 2011 girls.... With a 10 month engagement everyone was still "oh, you have so much time... relax!"  But I'm starting to have some major anxiety.  My FI is a farmer, so he is stuck at the farm right now until June, then June 1st we get possession of OUR NEW HOUSE so we will be moving and organizing and cleaning for basically the first three weeks.  Then all of a sudden its July and we have 3 months.... Oh... and Harvest starts the last week of August, and he could very well be going right until 3 days before the wedding.  So I basically have July and August to get EVERYTHING done.... I'm starting to have a major freak out here...... 

    We still have:
    Invitations
    Favors
    Dress alterations
    order my veil 
    moms' dresses
    tuxes
    pick up and arrange the rest of the decor
    programs
    ORDER OUR RINGS - wait, we still have to start shopping for them.... 
    get my "undergarments" for my dress
    bridal party gifts
    find pics for the slideshow
    write speaches
    meet with the priest (we still don't even know what TIME our wedding is at cause he won't answer my e-mails)
    Work out a day of schedule
    create a playlist for the ipod when the band is on break

    And writing all of this out is making my head hurt

    <div>Yupp. She gave this sap story about how she had to wait so long to finally get married and she deserved what ever day she wanted. Mother in law agreed with her and said that it would be selfish if FI and I got married before her, because we are young (he is 26 I am 25). I fought tooth and nail but SIL ended up winning because I liked the idea of have our wedding on the 13th of October, and I sort of wanted to see her train wreck wedding so I could learn what not to do. HAhaha.  </div>

    We got engaged 3/7/10  but since we are such huge procrastionators I didnt start planning til January. I rushed to start getting things done in January and February that now I dont have much I can do right now so the day feels like its still forever away! Im sure it will start to feel like its coming fast this summer when more things start getting done for the wedding.
    Left to do:
    Florist
    Cake (part of catering contract but still need to give specifics for the cake)
    Tuxes
    Bridesmaids/MOH dress (I found one I like but just need to get them to see it and order it)
    Invites
    Officiant (just need to ask FI pastor but he hasnt been home to go to church to ask)
    Favors/ Wedding party gifts
    Registry
    Hair/Makeup

    While my engagement is not nearly as long as most of yours (we got engaged in Feb 12).. but it still feels like the past few months have flown by and I'm wondering why I don't have more done.  Still on the major to do list
    Caterer & Cake
    Registry - we have started this
    Invites - though I do know what I want
    Ceramony music
    Ceramony plans
    Reception Set up / pretty stuff
    wedding rings
    Honeymoon
    et al.... I'm probably forgetting lots of things.  I'm just trying to take this one step at a time and hopefully still enjoying this time with my FI.
