Weekly Recaps!

Okay, so I was going to do this each Monday, but I didn't come online this past Monday because I hurt my ribs and spent the day in bed reading. So, like last week, share the top five highlights of your week (or week & a half if you prefer), whether they be events, thoughts, or whatever!

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." -Isaiah 61:10 NKJV

  • 1. Babysat Thursday for my best friend. Normally the grandmother watches, but she's busy now on all Thursdays. They can bring him to work with them, but they can't really watch him all day and still do their jobs, so they needed an on-site baby sitter. (He's 9 months old). They're considering putting him in daycare, but they're expecting twins and I just dont' think they should have to use all that money up when I know they will have to use it later. So I'm volunteering to do it for free... so this may or may not turn into a regular thing. We'll see.

    2. Fellowship this weekend didn't go exactly as planned. I missed my (not affiliated with my church) Friday night Bible Study, went to an ordination at my church Saturday, overslept Sunday and walked to a local church instead of going to mine. Kind of a crazy but still good weekend.

    3. Mysteriously injured my ribs (best guess is one of my dogs kicked me in my sleep or I coughed in my sleep and tore a muscle?) and spent the day Monday in bed... and read SIX books on my Nook. Kind of fun, even though I was in pain.

    4. Picked up my last paycheck.  Job's over, but they said they'd probably be hiring again in March and told me they'd be happy to have me then, so at least if I don't find anything by then that'll probably happen.

    5. Got my passport photos! Now I just need to get my documents in a row and submit them to apply for my passport. On my way to India!

1000 Comments Fourth Anniversary 25 Love Its First Answer
    edited January 2012

    1.  This has been our first full week back since before Christmas. Yikes.  Getting back into a routine this week has been both exhausting and needed. Although, we did realize on Friday when we were both home for lunch, that we had no lunch food in the house and had to run across the street to the dollar general for sandwich stuff.

    2. I wiped out on our iced over sidewalk last Wednesday night...and it still hurts if I sit just "right." I'm done with it hurting.

    3. We called a local landlady yesterday to see if she has any homes available and she has one house opening right when we want to move, 2 blocks from our current apartment, and it's right on budget.  We get to see it Monday morning.  We're hoping it works out!!

    4.  I'm currently reading "Grace for the Good Girl" by Emily Freeman.  It's AMAZING.  Seriously, check it out.

    5.  We get to start round 3 of TTC this weekend.  Not sure if I ever actually announced that here, but we've been trying since November.  Hoping this month is it.  :)

  • 1.  Last week was my first week of classes.  I like them, but I'm unsure about the one online class.

    2.  I found out that I can't have the job I applied for because of a conflict of interest.  But my application has been passed on to others for better paying positions!  We'll see how it works out.

    3.  Headache started Saturday afternoon.  Headache is not yet completely gone. :(

    4.  Corollary to #3.  Should not watch Diagnosis X anymore when not feeling well, as headache now = brain tumor = pseudo-tumor (in my head).  Oddly enough, Dr. G hasn't cause any problems.

    5.  Still haven't figured out how to store our 3' Christmas tree.

  • 1. Got really sad about the Saints losing a playoff game.

    2. Slept through church Sunday.  :(

    3. Designed a wedding stationery suite for my friend (I'm a BM).

    4. Started a new birth control pill, Seasonale!  I'm excited about less periods, lol.

    5. Threw up at work this morning.  :(  Likely a temporary side effect of the new pills.

  • 1. Set a defense date - March 23.  Wedding is on April 14, so it will be nice to have the defense stress done so I can focus on the wedding fully.

    2. Friday night had a get-together with my Bible study, and FI was finally able to meet them.  It was nice to have these important people meet, and prayer time brought me the peace I needed after a very stressful day.

    3. Working on finishing up a paper so we can submit to a journal tomorrow.

    4. Bought needed supplies for invitations, started addressing envelopes.

    5. Found a verse that is going to be "my verse" for the next few months of wedding planning, thesis writing, defending, and job search.  Phil. 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  • 1. We had a smooth transition with H going back to school and got to spend some time together before things got too crazy.
    2. I impressed my boss by working three 6 hour shifts in a row. That's a lot for me these days.
    3. I went on a church tour with some Mormon missionaries and I'm looking forward to building relationships with them and having them in our home.
    4. Had coffee with my best guy friend for the first time in a few weeks.
    5. Went home over the weekend and spent time with H's family.

</div><div>This is one of my favorite Bible verses! I have Phil. 4:6-7 written on a post-it and taped to my desk at work (I am a teacher). I also have Galatians 5:22-23 taped on there too (the fruit of the spirit one).
