Afternoon Wedding reception food ideas

My fiance and I are having an afternnon wedding and reception. Orginally, we planned a big cake and punch reception, but are now having second thoughts. We don't have a lot of money to spend on food, but would like to do something simple. We have a couple of friends lined up to serve the food and so we want to keep this very simple and easy to serve.

Our wedding is more casual (for our area) but we are having a formal church service. 

Any ideas about what to serve??

    How about some sandwiches and sides?  A friend of mine had subs and sides at her afternoon wedding, and it was just fine.

    You could do party sandwich platters (or wraps sliced thin to be a little more fancy), BBQ catering (usually really, really reasonably priced), or snacks like cheese and veggie trays, spinach dip, shrimp cocktail, fried chicken tenders etc.

    BBQ is definitely the cheapest. I found some in the area for $4.45 a person. It is, however, the least formal. I'm going for a nice picnic buffet. People can choose from three types of sandwiches (on nice bread, more "panera" than "subway", and cut in half in case people want to try more than one), regular potato chips or sweet potato chips (homemade and proportioned into small bags), and skewers of fruit. We are doing all of the food ourselves (me, mom, fmil, fsil, and moh... Whose DH happens to own a restaurant). It's about $6 a person (excluding dishes and beverages)... But we are doing all the work.

    Thanks for the ideas. We are actually going with Turkey sandwich (make your own) and a small salad
