Nike shorts?

What do you girls think of Nike shorts with bridesmaid's initials on them (to wear while getting hair and makeup done)?

I think you should just let them wear what they want to wear. I wouln't wear shorts with my initials again, so it seems like alot of money for a couple of cutesy photos.
  • I would skip that. Honestly, depending on what kind of chairs you will be sitting in for hair and makeup, shorts can be uncomfortable. My thighs stick to wood or metal seats in shorts or a short dress.
  • I wouldn't wear them for getting ready. Heck, I probably wouldn't ever wear them at all. I work out a run a lot, but not in shorts.

  • Can I ask what kind of shorts...like material wise? I'm a runner and I never lounge around in my running shorts.

I think its a cute idea if they're comfy "yoga" shorts your girls can lounge around in and they're not their gifts for being in the wedding. I'd be more likely to want some type of lounge pants instead of short...yoga pants, sweat pants ect.

  • They don't need a uniform to get their hair and makeup done.

Don't do that. If ANYTHING, get them all zip-up hoodies (or a button up shirt) without any indication of the word "bridesmaid" or any other wedding-related element if you want them to wear them again. This way their hair/makeup won't get messed up when they change- 15 years of performing + a hairdresser for a mother has taught me well. http://www.walmart.com/browse/women/all-activewear/5438_133162_592996/?_refineresult=true&facet=category%3AActivewear+Jackets||category%3AFleece||category%3AHoodies&ic=23_0&path=0%3A5438

^ Walmart has a pretty good selection so, if they want to, they can wear it again. AND, if they don't, you won't feel terrible (all under $15)

-- ETA: but as PP's said, they don't need a uniform and probably won't wear them again, AND depending where you go, they can be super uncomfy (I have the same thigh problem)

I think it's a cute idea. Alot of my girls are used to wearing Nike shorts all the time. I think this would be a great gift and something they can use. You say they dont need a "uniform", i agree. However, I would like for us all to match in some way. Same way with the reahearsal dinner, we all have a specific outfit for that night.
  • Of course you think it's a cute idea - it's your idea. You asked us what we thought about it, no one was in favor of it.

I get a unified look for the ceremony and wedding, but why the need for matchy matchy for the rehearsal dinner and getting ready? These are your friends and loved ones, not props.

And are you buying them all these coordinating outifits, since you are the one who wants they matching?

Yes I am. For the rehearsal dinner, all they're wearing is jeans and the Bridesmaid tank top.
