Saturday was! We decided it would be easier to do it then so we could actually go to a post office together and I could put on my best adorable bride face to try to get our envelopes hand-cancelled. (Didn't work.) If we did it today, we'd be shoving them in a mailbox on the way to work. I took pictures and put them in my blog because I'm a nerd like that.
Also, FI has gotten a few texts from people (including one of our GMs) since his other friend sent out their invites 12 weeks early to their May 22 wedding, being all, "Uh, am I invited? Where's my invitation? Because I already got C&A's." So, yeah, thanks, jerks, for making us look late.

Would have. . . but our envelopes don't want to stick closed. Gah. So I have to go get a glue stick of some sort at lunch. I mean, it might be FI's fault - he was the lick/stick person. But it's either going to be double sided tape or glue stick, I guess.
Oh, sucky. Tape runners are awesome for that kind of stuff.
FI is delivering 5 of them to his co-workers today in person at lunch. (We can't get their addresses for security reasons, so hand-delivering was the only option outside of mailing them to FI's office, which is dumb.) I'm curious to see what they say!

"Security reasons"-- the office won't release their addresses? That sounds like the reverse policy of my grade school... we weren't allowed to bring birthday party invitations to school, so parents were allowed to send the guest list to the receptionist and she'd respond with addresses.
What a pain in the ass for the receptionist, even with only 450 kids K-8.
Well, we could get addresses of 3/5 people, but he works with federal judges and they're not supposed to give out their addresses for security purposes. It's ridiculous--we've been to his house before--but who knows. We thought it would be dumb to hand deliver them to 2 people and tell the others to wait because it's in the mail--kind of like the classroom/birthday party phenomenon.
They already think I'm nuts because I send massive quantities of baked goods to work with FI; I'm sure they'll think I REALLY have no life when he tells them I made the invites.

Yeah, we could have gotten invites for the same amount of money I paid to DIY, but they wouldn't have been as nice. If I'd paid for what we have, it would have been probably $250-300 more.
The nice thing is I paid for all the paper over a year ago, so I don't have to deal with it now.

We have to send one to Iraq. I thought we'd be sending one to Afghanistan, but he just got home, so it goes to NC instead.
