Aye, aye, aye ... I did it to myself, admittedly. Every once in a while, I torture myself and go to the Etiquette board, and some others.
A while back, I ruffled someone's feathers by referring Emily Post as the etiquette resource vs Crane's (which I think of as an excellent paper manufacturer). Her response to me -- "Emily Post is dead!" I started laughing/snorting so loudly that my fiance had to know the deal. When I told him, he nearly keeled over in laughter. In fact, that has become our mantra when we hear something that is completely non-sensical, one of us laughs and says, "Emily Post is dead!" Ha!
Anyhoo ... for some crazy reason (too much time on my hands??), I was on another board earlier today and saw something that same Knottie wrote which actually offended me. Now, I don't offend easily, but her ignorance was SO flagrant -- and the advice she gave in response to the original post SO off base -- that I wrote a really flaming response. Of course, I deleted it before hitting "POST," cuz that's just not how I roll.
But I thought of everyone here and something many of you have expressed repeatedly ... Many of these young brides are so young and so inexperienced that it is frightening they're entering into marriage. It makes me thankful and really, really happy that I am not a mom to any of them. And thankful for THIS board.
I love you all! Thanks again for your support earlier this week when my dad fell. I was at the again house today (having convinced him yesterday that the staples should stay in more than 2 days!), just to make sure he's taking it easy. Yeah, right ...
Have a great weekend, ladies!
