  Your name should go first (it's always ladies first).

  
  

  You can also list your names on one line, but many will tell you that denotes marriage (it actually denotes a social unit, which you are, so that's fine.) Your choice.

  If your parents' names are on the top line of the invitation like this:
  
  Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
  request the honour of your presence
  
  then it's your parents who are inviting the guests, and it's THEIR address that goes on the envelopes as the return address.
  
  And if your parents are deceased or they are not supportive of the marriage, and you and FI are on the top line as the hosts, I still wouldn't say you should rub people's noses in the idea that you are currently living together.  In that case, you should just list the address, no names above the address at all.

  The only thing with using my parents as the return address is that we will be in Alaska, and my parents in Texas.. so I figure it would be easier to have them returned to me just to avoid any complications. And because of my parents/step-parent/soon-to-be step-parent situation, I'm not sure I even WANT to attempt figuring out how to get that on the actual invite lol
  
  And I had considered just leaving the names off but I wasn't sure how that would look.

  return addresses typically don't list a name at all if they are on the back flap of the envelope.

  Even though we lived together; I didn't list a name for the return address.  FOr the RSVPs, I used my name since I was the main person keeping track

  I just put the address, no names.  Although on the response cards I did put both our names on it (with an "AND" in between them)... I know everyone says And signifies marraige but it was just easier that way.
