My fiance and I just got engaged two days ago!! That day, I had to work from 9-2 then had my first day of school and my class was from 5-8 (I'm getting my Masters in counseling). In the break, I called him and asked if he wanted to get lunch since I had a few hours, but he had a job interview the next day and he said he thought he should stay home and prepare for it. Since I had nothing to do until class, I decided to go home and change since I didn't like what I was wearing. When I got home, I noticed his car was in my driveway - my first thought was that he decided to surprise me and my roommates by cutting our grass (he had said the day before he needed to come cut it again). Then I see a sign on my door that says "Please watch your step" When I open the door, I see rose petals and candles all over my kitchen floor leading through the living room to my bedroom door. On my door, there is another note that quotes the scripture from Proverbs about who can find a wife of noble character, she is worth far more than rubies, and it says to knock then come in. When I open the door, I see more petals all over the floor and a tent made of blankets and my love sitting on the bench in the middle of it.
I knew why he was there and I immediately start kissing him then realize I should let him talk. He kept it simple - he said he loved me then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!
We had a few hours together then I had to leave and go to class and he cut the grass while I was gone, but he said we had somewhere to be at 9:00!! he took me to dinner at a seafood restaurant and had gotten the staff to set up a table with rose petals and candles all over the table! A couple that had been dining there actaully waited around for us becasue they thought he was going to propose there! We told them the story of how it happened and they snapped a few pictures for us!
It was the best day!! It still feels like a dream!!!
