Does any one know if they're planning on doing more, say like next May?

Llilley, it would be highly unlikely IMHO.  They had to go through an enormous amount of red tape to get this one approved from the Feds to the locals.  From what I understand, this is the first one they have ever done and believe me, the storms have torn up the beaches (especially KH) in the past and they never did a thing.

Wish you well on your planning, etc.

I don't think they will need to do it again for many years. If you go down there you will see... they moved the beach out a significant distance from where it used to be. They are taking sand from sandbars in the ocean and making the beaches bigger. It will be beautiful when they are done! (just hope the project doesn't ruin anyone's day)

From the looks of things, your area hasn't been completed yet BUT the timeline shows they are doing your area from 8/28 to 9/5 so you should be in the clear.

Here is a link to the nags head site and on the top right, click on the construction timeline so you can check the progress throughout the summer.  They update ever Mon, Wed & Fri.   http://www.townofnagshead.net

So the good news is it looks like you are good to go and hopefully, they will be finished even sooner since the project started 3 weeks before planned!
