Wedding date during the week?

I am not yet engaged but it's coming.  We've been together 7 1/2 years and my brain has already entered planning mode.  I can't think of celebrating any other day than the one we've been celebrating since we started dating.  Whether we get married in 2012 or 2013 that date will fall on a Wednesday or a Thursday.  We do not want a large wedding, just something simple with our family and close friends.  Is it stupid to get married during the week for that reason?

    I dont think so.  Its your wedding-do what you want.  Just know that some people might not be abe to attend.

    It's not stupid, it's really sweet. Just be prepared to be disappointed if people can't come - especially if there are really important people (best high school friend, etc.) who live out of town.

    I think it isn't stupid but like the other person said some people probably won't attend due to work or other stuff.

    We're getting married on our 7 year anniversary. It's a Sunday but we are doing a destination wedding. Our reception is a few weeks later, at home. Maybe this could work for you, even if you get married at home, have a reception on a weekend.
