Sand Brushes

Has anyone used the paint brush diy idea and how did it work?  The only change we made to the wedding was the time.  We are now getting married at 8:30 in the morning and we think that the sand will be wetter/stickier and it would be nice to have one of the BMs have a basket of these brushes for the guests as they leave to go to the reception.  I have only found one seller and she is pretty pricey so FH is sure he can come up with some ideas to help me with this should we decide to use them and DIY. Any thoughts?

I actually have no idea what a sand brush DIY project is :)  Can you elaborate?

I found these brushes that are printed with the wedding info. and then tied with ribbon.  The guests can use them to brush the sand off of their feet.  I have found a few diy threads on other sites but none with printing, that I can find so far.  Anyway not sure if it is worth the time to try and figure out... but I probably will because now I'm curious as to how they would look and it could be a cute idea.

Oh how cute!  I have never seen that before.  Maybe you could print some nice DIY labels and stick them on the flat part of the brush?  Might not stay forever, but it gets the point across and should be a lot more affordable than paying to have it done.

FH thought sticky paper printed and then I could gloss them over to keep the sand out.  Going to try this weekend.  We will have 4 small kids at the wedding and I think they would get a kick out of brushing the sand off of everyones feet.  I may put them in little pails for them.

    Cute!

Would decoupaging work? I have never done it, but I think there is a glue you can use for it. Also Lyssalou89 used iron-on paper (which she mentioned was pricey) to iron on letters to her wooden Mr. and Mrs. signs. Another option is maybe buying a stamp with a seashell, starfish or just an initial.

    Good luck!

I just saw a picture of sand brushes in the latest issue of Brides magazine and they attached a card with ribbon going through the top hole in the brush. You could probably put your monogram on that with a thank you. Just wanted to share another option.
