Venues

Hi everyone, I am recently engaged and planning a wedding for September 17, 2011, in Winston Salem, NC.   We are on a very tight budget, right now set at $3,000 and probably going to be raised to $4,000 or even $4,500.  I am wanting to get married outside preferably on a farm or at a manor house.  I have been doing some checking and every venue like that is very expensive and offer no add'l services.  Does anyone know of a venue where I could have an outside wedding and not break my bank doing it?  I also want to hold my reception in the same location as the ceremony.

    Congratulations.

A way we are saving money on the venue is by rent a property owned by the city. Look into local parks and clubhouses as they have great views for half the price.  The venue we are looking at is $300 for the whole day at a city clubhouse in greensboro.

    Good Luck with your search.

I don't know what the prices are but have you tried Tanglewood? http://www.forsyth.cc/parks/tanglewood/reservations.aspx  They have some outdoor spaces there.

I don't know how far you're willing to travel, but Cody Creek in Dobson, NC has an outside venue and indoor reception area.  It's gorgeous and amazingly affordable. Also, they provide the catering (and it's very reasonable), linens, silverware & plates, etc.  They also have a list of vendors for flowers, cakes, etc that they'll give you if you need ideas :)   (I'm getting married there, and obviously love it, haha)
