Sunday

What's everyone up to today?  I'm about to head into work and make up some missed hours from this past week... bleh.  I should be thankful that my manager lets me do this, but really I just want to be in bed still!

Re: Sunday

  • Hi!
I'm just laying on the couch watching America's next top model.
I should be studying for my exam tomorrow but I'm just tired.

  • Just texted the foster mom of the dog we made tentative plans to see today. I'm a little nervous!

I really need to go shopping. Like, badly, and for everything. But I do not have the willpower...I hate shopping.
  • Good luck, MarieSD!  Hopefully you'll come back today and let us know how it went.

UGH, I need to go shopping for just about everything as well.  We are reduced to eating grilled cheese sandwiches and soup because that's literally all that's left in the kitchen.  I really should go to the store today but I have ZERO motivation to do so.

  • FI was out of town for most of last week, so we are still stocked up on everything except drinks. I'm glad to not have to go to the store this week.

Oh, I will. H is on a video game binge this weekend, and I'm exhausted from gardening yesterday, so I'll be on my computer most of the day.

We're about to go to Subway. We actually have tons of food in the house, but it's all non-perishable junk food. (ugh) For some reason, we're terrible about keeping actual meal items and staples on hand, but when it comes to Doritos, Pop Tarts, and cookies? We've got more than enough. (H buys that kind of stuff at Costco. I half love and half loathe that he does that).
  • We are being sooo lazy. I am currently remembering why we don't drink as much as we used to. Man, it really kicks my butt the next day. I guess that means I'm getting old. : /

My plan for today is to attempt to clean a little bit and then we're meeting some friends for an early dinner. FI is supposed to be asking his friend to be in the WP. Woooo.

Good luck with the puppy, Marie!

  • I should be studying for my lab test and taking the test online later today. But I don't feel like doing anything productive. The teacher should not be allowed to give us work over Spring Break week. We were required to complete 1 chapter, 1 lab chapter, submit homework & take quiz and a project. I am going to PROTEST!!!
I must go grocery shopping today. I do not have time during the week.
  • Got home from my parents' house about three hours ago and took a nap and a shower.  I'm going to mass in a few.  I, too, have a good deal of shopping to do.

Good luck, Marie!  I hope you get a doggy soon!

  • Today, we went and saw "John Carter" (it was pretty good), went to Williams-Sonoma in Southlake and bought a bunch of stuff, went to Corner Bakery and then went and visited a kitty.  Her name is Pee Wee and she's 7 and has been at the Hickory Creek animal shelter since November.  Luckily they have plenty of room for her and the other cat (who has been there since October).  We will probably be taking her in after the new flooring.

Yesterday, I got my desk packed up, went through two or three other boxes and Bill got our new light fixture in, our old towel bar back up and then we went shopping.  We just need to put up the crown molding and figure out what to do in regards to a shower curtain, hand towels and the tile in the shower and we're done.  I'm kind of excited!
  • I had to work all day and just got home. Went straight to my room to put on my pj's going to sit on my hiney for the rest of the night.

  • Julie -- how exciting to be so close to done! Definitely do it all now while you are excited! Lol. I still haven't bought new hand towels for our bathrooms, and it's just this annoying thing I never quite get around to doing now.

Well, no dog visits for us today. The foster mom texted me this afternoon and let me know this afternoon wouldn't work for her after all. Boo.

I took a power nap, then went power shopping. Hit JC Penney for clothes, Dollar Tree for decorative baskets (soooo much cheaper than anywhere else!) and Target for random house necessities. A solid 2 hours of shopping, and I've got almost everything I need! I just need new shoes, so a trip to DSW is in the cards for next weekend (if not before).
  • H and I had as much of a heart-to-heart as one can have over the phone wherein we discussed the length of time we'll be spending in Pampa vs. the condition of the house we hope to buy.  I don't want to buy a "budget" house only to have to update it within three years to get it ready to sell again.  I think we've finally settled on one -- it's got a really nice updated kitchen, and the family is moving overseas, so they're leaving the refridgerator.  It needs better light fixtures in most of the rooms, but that was about the only thing we disliked.  All the other houses we've liked are low-priced, but they'd need a lot of work if we wanted to get them sold quickly.

We also talked about the likelihood that he'll want to stay in this type of job he has right now.  He wants to stay with Halliburton, but his current position has him on-site for up to 12 hours a day including some weekends.  =(
