Directions and accommodations card

Hi All,

I am creating my own Directions and Accommodations card for our formal church wedding and have a few questions:

1. Do the Direction and Accommodation info go on the same or seperate cards?

2. For Directions, do I do "from the ceremony", "from the west", and "from the east"? We have people coming from ceremony, south, east, and west but that seems like too much no?

3. Is it improper to refer guests to our wedding website on this Direction and/or Accommodation card?

5. Lastly, we did not block a room because our venue is a bed and breakfast with rooms upstairs and in order to block them we had to pay an additional 20k to block off the 20 rooms (long story). Therefore, we wanted to list the bed and breakfast (20 rooms) AND an additional nearby hotel. How do I list these? What is the wording?

Thank you sooooo much!!!!!

Re: Directions and accommodations card

  • If you have room, they can go on the same card. They could also be front/back (make sure to label the card "direction and accommodations" or somehow let guests know that both sets of info are on the card.

You can do from west, from east, and from ceremony. If this is a major highway/interstate that you're including, guests can find their way to those routes and you needn't worry about from north, south, anywhere else.

We actually did an accommodations card and then at the bottom said "For more information and for driving directions, please visit..." and listed our website. It is totally okay to do that.

    Accommodations
    The following locations are suggested:

    Location 1
    address
    phone number
any other pertinent info (hotel website, transportation info, etc)

    Location 2
    address
    phone number
    other info
  • Agree with PP.  Enclosure cards can have both kinds of info, not just one, if you can make it fit.  I agree that it's probably easier to find a common point of departure like a major interstate and do directions from there.

I like the idea of doing a front/back thing and I also don't mind the website on the bottom, as long as it's on the enclosure card only.

The 3 insert cards for our invtes are staggered, with accommodations being the smallest card, so that one has only accommodations info because there wouldn't have been enough room for directions on either side.  I'm putting the directions on the back of the reception card (the middle card), so that people can just grab that one to stick in their purse/pocket the day of.  It has directions to the church from the north and south (church is off of a north/south freeway), and also directions from the church to the reception.

And did you say $20K?  Is that a $1000/night bed and breakfast?
