Saturday!

Morning to whoever else is awake already :)  I'm up, showered, and already considering a nap. ha
We have all sorts of errands to run today, and I want to get out and finish them early so I can be a bum all afternoon.  We have a cloth diapering 101 class today though, so that should be interesting. Hopefully the whole thing is less overwhelming after the class.  Plus, one of the girls from MN who's also on my TB month board is going, so I can meet her finally! H still thinks I'm nuts.

Any fun plans today? What's the weather like by you? It's still pretty cool here, but getting muggy. I'm tempted to turn on the a/c just because I can.

Re: Saturday!

  • We've painted and assembled the dresser and crib. I bought some artwork off of etsy, but I haven't hung it yet. We need curtains and a chair and bookshelf still. So it's kind of coming together?

Is this the new trackpad? Didn't you have to replace it recently? Or is this a new computer?
  • Good Morning!

Cool here as well with 85% humidity.  Looks like it's gonna be a sticky day.

I'm going on a beef jerky making spree for the weekend.  We should have gobs of it by tomorrow night.  Other than a few chores and grocery shopping, I think I'm doing homework all day. It's gonna suck, but if I get it all done, I only have math to do until Thursday so totally worth it!
  • Morning. I woke up about an hour ago from a phone call. A good friend of ours, who is also in the wedding, was involved in a major car accident with his gf. A drunk driver was going the wrong way on a one way street and cause a 4 car accident. Their vehicles are both totaled but they're ok. Someone else Involved was ejected from their car and they don't know the status. I am just waiting by the phone for updates.

  • Hi everyone!

I have big plans today. We'll see how much I get done. I'd like to put the crib together but with only me here, that could be a shhit show. Wish me luck!

I had the grass cut yesterday for the first time in a long time (oops) and my dogs think it's a brand new yard. They are loving life!

The sku was blue when I first woke up but its gotten overcast, and apparently its supposed to rain later. Pretty cool though, only 14C right now.

We are driving out to the reserve in a bit, adam needs smokes and were picking some up for my mom, aunt & uncle too. Seriously, were buying like 700$ worth of smokes, its redic. Other than that my day is just going to be relaxing, we dont have much going on. Adam is off work so we may just watch movies and chill out.
  • Good morning, ladies.

Off soon for a hike with friends.  As for the rest of the day . . . who knows.  I have a 100 mile bike ride tomorrow, so I'll probably take it easy and just cook & meal plan.  Maybe watch something off Netflix.

How many cigarettes does that typically come out to? I guess here that would be close to 100 packs I think. I was just curious if there was a price difference.

The kind adam buys, he gets 6 cartons for 90$. My mom and aunt get another kind which is 30$ a carton, so theyre each getting 10 cartons.

eta: as perspective, a crappy brand of smokes at the corner store is just over $12 for a pack.

Holy hell Nebb, I think of all the money I've saved since I quit and we were only about 4.50 a pk.

Today is puppy class at 1, then I'm going to get my plants. It was pouring yesterday, so I held off till today. We were supposed to go to Amish country today, but I dont know if that will happen.

Tomorrow we have to be up early for the Race for The Place, H is running the 5K, I'm in charge of taking pictures for work so I'm walking (not that I'd run ;).

Weather is about the same as you Steph, soggy but sunny. It's about 67 here.

Yup, Canada is balls like that, the tax on our cigarettes is outrageous. Thats why we buy on the reserve, because its cheaper and tax free. Adam certainly wouldnt be smoking if he was buying smokes at 12$ a pack. I dont mind too much going to the reserve because its almost an hour away and it ends up being a fun weekend outting when we go. The last time we went we stopped at some aircraft museum. Today we are stopping at a burger place we have never tried before but have heard good reviews about :)
  • good morning!
I just woke up. I can't believe that I slept until almost 11 o'clock, I'd say it's been at least 5 years since I've done that. I feel rested, but holy shiiit am I hungry.

I'm getting ready to head out to the grocery. Michael was supposed to come home tonight but when I called him, he said he might stay for a few more days. I'm bummed because I wanted to grill out steaks tonight and I never make them as good as he does. I might see if my Dad wants to come down and grill one for me.

brandi, hope your friends and everyone involved is ok!

  • lol I'm terrible at cooking on the grill. I can't leave things alone, or stop opening the lid. I'm a daddy's girl, and the baby, my Mom has told me before that it makes him happy when I call and ask him to do things for me. Hell maybe I'll buy three steaks and invite them both down for dinner, then spring it on him that he's the chef :)

    Good morning everyone!

It's 64 degrees (F) here, but it's supposed to get up to the 80's. I kind of hope it does, because then I can wear a skirt to the party we're going to this afternoon. I'm ALWAYS cold, so I won't even consider a skirt until it's 75 degrees. It probably comes from when I was little and my grandma wouldn't let my cousin and I wear shorts after school until it was 75.

Other than that, we're getting really to go get kolaches, and a new toaster over. The toaster we have now started smoking when I used it a couple of days ago, so yeah, time for a new one!

Brandi- I hope everyone is OK!

<div>Hey!  Not my fault I was daddy's little slugger until my baby brother came along.  I got all the insider knowledge on grilling, lawn mowing, and team sports. Heck.  I could change the car's oil when i was 10.   ;)</div>

I'm awesome at grilling, self taught! I went to adams parents house for a bbq once and watching his dad do it hurt my soul. He kept opening it, flipped the burgers every 3 minutes, it was a mess to watch. Thank christ adam knows how to grill properly cause I can't handle that.
  • Morning! My FI and I are spending the weekend in philly. We're currently sitting in the amtrak station waiting for a friend from college. We plan on playing tourist in the old city today.

Uugh I feel so bummed out now. They just announced andy samberg is leaving snl too.
  • Morning. I'm getting some housework done and then will try to write a bit. I'm finally moving along in my book and don't want to lose momentum. I might also get an hour or two of work from home in, but we'll see. Oh and I have  to go on a manhunt for a movie. I went to watch one last night and when I opened  the case, the disc was missing and I about had a heart attack. I have no clue where it is, and am hoping it's stuck in H's  old xbox so I just need to find the power cord to check.

I've never actually tried grilling. I have no desire to and just leave it to H.

Man, Whisky just curled up in my lap butI have to get up to check the laundry. I feel guilty moving him.
  • Got an update, our friend is ok, just a little banged up. His truck is totaled. He sent me a picture and it is a mess. His GF is waiting on Xray results, they think her elbow is broken. No updates on the others though.

  • i'm so excited.  I've got my brand new sheets in the wash and can hardly wait to go to bed tonight.  They're so soft, silky, and cool.  No more hot old sheets for me.  I can't believe we didn't have any summer sheets.  i forgot to replace me set last year after they tore.  They were cheap but comfy.  This set is quality so hopefully they'll last for ages.

Question:  How long do sheets last for you guys?  I usually rotate between just a couple sets for summer and then I have 2 winter sets (all flannel and warm). Seems after 2 years of wear and washing that they just give out unless they're pricey ones.
  • Crisis averted, I found my movie. I can relax now.

Anna, we don't have summer or winter sheets. We just use the same 2 sets all year long. We have to gt the expensive ones because H has sensitive skin so we make those things last as long as possible. I'm not replacing them until they are torn and can't be used anymore.
  • I think we have 5 sets - 3 we rotate in spring and summer and the other two are flannel for the winter.  I just had to order some allergy mattress and pillow covers.  Kohl's was having a pretty decent sale on sheets.  But when aren't they having a decent sale?

We have 7 or 8 sets of sheets, and id say 6 of them we have had since we got married 4 years ago (gifts) and other with one that I think my ring snagged and cut a small hole in, all are still fine.
