  Do you have any American Legions in your area, I am in wisconsin but I know that we have a very beautiful american legion area. The have a lovely spot for outdoor events and there is a nice big room that is indoors for the reception. There is also a lake right there for people to get pictures by.
  
  I would maybe to some traveling around your area to see if there is a spot you would love to have your wedding at and see if people would be okay with it being there if you paid them. Otherwise talk to some friends to see if any family members have a bit of land that you could set a tent up on.
  
  Lots of really cool things you could do with that!

  Are you getting married in Los Angeles?  I am too and I was looking at The Griffith Park Observatory and a couple local historical museums.  They have a fee to use the venue but they dont provide food.  Another fee you might have to pay is for alcohol.
