I'm planning a wedding for next year. We are in the process of looking for and hiring a venue. Besides the museum are there any more places that will fit 150-175 guests and allows outside catering? Our budget is not huge but we are trying to allot price ranges for everything. We are looking at $4000 min for the space and $7500 for the venue if the food and bar is included. Help!

Do you have a particular caterer that you're set on?

I think the Federal Ballroom is in your budget, but you have to use their caterer.

I've read a lot of good things about Pigeons Catering (spelling) we're also looking at caterers here in BR.

I'm not sure that Pigeon's catering will fit in your budget. Their packages start at $60/person including open bar, but I'm sure they would try and work with you. They have been great to work with so far.

Capdescoq catering is around $40/person and they do the catering for the Federal Ballroom.

You have to use the wax museums bar, so you need to find a caterer that will take off their bar and just do the food. Wax museum will fit into that budget, I suggest capedebosq catering or benedicts. Not many venues allowed outside catering in the city

You could also try Gallier Hall and Venusian Gardens.
